Good for digging a cable / conduit trench in clay.
Good price and quality. No locking pins and head and shaft don’t exactly marry
Bought this along with the seperate Bulldog handle as it was the cheapest way to get a mattock. It's a good solid head but is very blunt from new and requires quite a bit of grinding to get it anywhere near sharp. Just about the right weight to be effective without being too heavy to use.
Appears to be good quality not used it yet so unable to comment on strength of steel.
Got this to remove bamboo roots , tried previously with a pick but this is definitely the tool for the job as it cuts through the roots, still hard work but better than a pick
Very good mattock. Made short work of a large patch of garden with lots of roots in it
It is as described and does what it does. Nothing more to say.
Good price, no need to get fancy to dig mud. Job done!
I buy first time, its very sharp cut nice and heavy to finish the job quicker .
Great pick axe for your garden digging needs. It's great with the wooden handle
Well made head that does what a mattock should do.
I'd never heard of a Mattock before until seeing this. Great bit of kit. Don't know how I've managed without one for so long ;-) It is acctually very useful for grubbing out old material in preparation for installing a new sleeper wall in the garden.
Good head, purchased with the long shaft. Works great
Excellent as far as a mattock goes. Made light work of digging up the ground and much easier than getting a shovel through the ground and rocks. Would recommend and very good price!
A beast of a tool substantial and built to last. It is well suited to break the most stubborn of ground or help lever out and cut tree roots up to a reasonable diameter. A bargain at the price paid👍
Bulldog Mattock Head is a good quality tool. I have used it in my back garden to dig up tree roots and also some concrete. Well built.
good on price and very good service in the shop
