A sturdy bolt for the bottom of the door. Easy to operate with the foot plate.
Poor condition, rusty plate foot press came off, had to refix with pop rivets as needed to use immediately
The floor plate is thinner than I’d like but works well

I bought this to lock one side of a pair of 5-Bar gates. I currently use a hand operated, print loaded bolt that most people seem incapable of understanding. I thought a foot operated one would be more obvious. Unfortunately, the throw of this bolt is only 18mm! So, if the bottom of your gate is less that 10/12mm above the ground, this won’t work.
I bought a pair of these to fit to our garage doors having noted in another review that they had limited throw.
When they arrived i was disappointed to see that they weren't a matching pair & quite surprised that one of them seemed fa better quality & had a very decent throw.
I had ordered online, but decided to see what the one that was in stock at the Sittingbourne branch was like, reasoning that it must match on or the other.
I exchanged the bolt, the one they had was a short throw one, but then noticed the rest of it didn't match the one I had so swapped yet again to try to get a reasonable match.
There must be at least three versions of these bolts but only one version is worth having & it will be pot luck what you get.
My customer is over the moon, fitted after a break in. It is a proper heavy duty foot bolt and is so simple to operate.
Recently fitted on of these foot bolts to my drive gates.......fantastic!
No more bending down to anchor the fixed gate to the drive, what a great piece of kit and well made at a reasonable price, well done Toolstation.
The foot operation is great and it seems pretty solid.
Beware, the throw is quite short.
Put on gate only to see that the bolt is just to short,unless you want your gates nearly touching the ground.have had to use another gate bolt which does have a longer bolt.
