I have a weird sink that does not have a down pipe and just lines up with the waste pipe. This worked a treat. Fits a 40mm waste pipe (the first backnut I bought was a 1-1/2" BSP which was too big, apparently you need to reduce by 1/4", so this works fine). Highly recommend A+++++

Couldn't fit due to thickness of rubber.no thread left on basin to couple up the waste.Could do with various thicknesses

Always use these in place of gaskets supplied with basin wastes which always seem to leak. Never had an issue with these kits

Slotted wastes can always be a pain to get sealed - this is a game changer. Sealed first time and all for less than £2!

Cant belive after all these years i havent discovered this little beauty! As usual couldn't get waste to seal on basin leaking down thread tried ptfe and leak seal tightening to within an inch of its life finally gave up and looked how much plumbers mate was when found this on rival site as I hate plumbers mate thought I'd give it a go especially as ts was a pound cheaper can't believe for 1.74 my problem went away will never fit a waste again without one!!!! Only thing I would do again is put some silicone spray on the bottom rubber dome (it was even next to me doh!) as it threaded and tight to do up but managed it even with a plastic back nut best 1.74 I have ever spent
Couldn't get it to seal 1st time - diameter of rubber bung only slightly smaller than waste aperture, and possibly over-tightened it.
2nd time lucky.

1 1/4” basin waste base seal. After struggling with a persistent leak using a pop up plug, this seal saved the day.
Bought as a backup for a leaking waste. We didn’t need it and returned it to store where it was refunded with no problem.
