Great tool for basin waste removal.
Perfect for trick waste pipe remval
What a magnificently useful piece of kit. As well as catering for two different common sizes of waste backnut, I suspect that it will be handy for larger metric nuts when working on motorcycles as well. Seems well made and fitted on the nut snugly.
Good box wrench although i agree with two or three people on here regarding the sizing.I needed this to remove the large backnut under a basin ,wouldn’t fit ,shaved off some of the plastic nut still no go,filed the edges of the wrench all the way round and all ok , although it was a perfect fit on the new nut no problem.
Ideal for basin wastes that are difficult to reach
Used this to remove a basin waste trap. Perfect fit in a tight space and couldnt have removed the waste trap nut without it. Not cheap but worth the cost to be able to get the job done
Whilst the quality of this box spanners seems good it was too long for the purpose I bought it for. It will be fine for basin or sink wastes but will not fit under an installed bath to replace the waste. One inch shorter and it would have been fine.
Already purchased a waste from you and because it’s in a difficult location I bought this spanner as it was “perfect” for the job. It wasn’t. The nut was eight sided and this is six - never assume they will all be the same. The item works very well but I had to purchase another waste in order to use it. 😡
Good tool, even better when I improvised a way to stop the wash basin plug hole from turning. Quick and easy method to compress the conical rubber seal under the ceramic basin. No compound or silicone required. Dry.
One of those tools that saves so much time. The basin I was fitting the waste to had so little access space - my first attempt with pump pliers took 45 mins. With this tool, it took about 5!
Worked a treat. Fit the nut perfectly and got think unit out
Struggled for a long time with a wrench and when I saw this I knew I had to purchase it. Although it will be used infrequently it is well worth it for the time and struggling that it saves, just wish I had bought one a long time ago
Wish I had read the other reviews before buying this. The 50mm will not fit a plastic back nut. Why is TS still selling these given the feedback?
50mm hex sink waste nut, 50mm hex socket. No problem. You'd think. Wrong. The waste nuts wouldn't even look at this spanner. Several hours of filing later (and knife edge wall thickness remaining) it just about fitted enough to get some purchase on the nut. All in all, very frustrating and a waste of time and money!
sturdy box spanner. Illustration is of a different size. The dimension is misleading - presumably refers to the pipe size on which the nuts for which the spanner is sized.
this is a hex spanner so will not properly fit octagonal nuts (usually plastic type) . This spanner is great for getting into a tight space such as a pedestal basin support.
I needed a spanner to remove a 50mm diameter sink waste nut but the 50mm end of this tool was too small to fit over it. After a lot of filing I managed to get it to fit. Shouldn't have had to do this.
Good solid tool for the price, spot on, it turned a difficult job into a simple task.
Useful basin sink waste spanner, the only down side could be clearance in tight situations.
This is a 46/50mm box spanner. Did the job when no other would fit. Waste back nut.
Perfect fit for tightening the waste nut under the sink. Took seconds to secure even in a tight space.
