Good product. Easy to fit. Nice to have the ability to change light frequency.
Easy to fit and ideal for brightness and colour adjustability.
6 purchased for a home improvement project. 50% failure rate in 4 months. Toolstation won’t refund in store and will only exchange if I remove them all and arrange for them to collect them, which is a hassle. Avoid this product, based on my experience, they do not stand the test of time.
Have used Aurora P6 downlighters extensively in the past and the R6 with simple selection of wattage and colour temperature is a great replacement, allowing the optimal selections to be made for the rooms without fuss
Good quality product at a great price from Toolstation. Easy fit and look fantastic when installed and operating.
Really good product. Three power modes and three light temperatures means you can ‘tune’ (without tools) these lights to suit your ambient lighting requirements. Very fast to install, super fast to wire up. Very strong springs to hold them tight to the ceiling. Silent dimming from really low to full. Will be using again!
Hope this one will be better value for money than the previous Aurora E8 that stopped working after about 7 years but probably less than 1000 hours of use. Seems a shame that I need to throw the whole unit away rather than simply replace a bulb. I suppose that this is 'progress'.
But it's a well thought out product that doesn't need a screwdriver to fit the wires (into colour coded spring loaded terminal clamps) or hold the sheathing in place. With the LED driver in a separate box from the luminair, then it will fit in the shallowest of ceiling voids. The selector switches for both output wattage and colour temperature allows a one-unit-fits-all approach that will reduce the options to be stocked and this maybe helps to keep the purchase price down.
But it's a let down that the decorative bezel from the previous E6 unit is incompatible with the new R6. Rather than go back to Toolstation for a new bezel, I modified the bayonet fittings on the previous one.
Bought these to replace failed LEDs in Bathroom. Easy to swap over , A great replacement LED and useful if you wanted to change brightness and colour variance with a flick of a switch,
This is a great easy to install product. No need for junction boxes or fly leads.
Great light fitting especially if you don't have much space between the joists. Lamp is fully adjustable in wattage and also warm or cool white.
Bought 15 lights to replace my old kitchen & hall LED’s. These lights are very good with 3 colour and 3 power settings. 8w setting is very bright and works well with VariPro dimmers. . White bezel is a nice no fuss mat finish and looks good in both rooms. Only negatives I have are 1. The spring loaded wire terminal is a bit fiddly and I would prefer if they were screws. 2. Spring that retain LED to ceiling feel too powerful and need a lot of force to bend back.
Newer version of previous light with 3 brightness and 3 colour options - went straight in and matched the old ones
Just ticks all the boxes…..
Bathroom had 3 halogen downlighters - needed to replace the bulbs and one of the drivers.
Easier to use these -
1) Fitted in the same hole
2) 3 brightness settings on a 3 position switch
3) 3 colour settings on a 3 position switch
4) Fire Rated
5) IP 65
6) interchangeable bezels (extra cost, but reasonable)
7) Loop in connectors
8) EASY Connections- don’t believe the negative reviews from the hard of thinking. You need about 10-12mm of stripped cable for the connector to grip - try it out before you put it in the ceiling
Fit them - leave them dangling - ask client to look at the room with different brightness/ colour settings and choose which they want.
Easy peasy - and all for £10!!!
Second set I have bought, but not fitted yet. First set (10) were very easy to fit and have had no problems after six months. This set includes using dimmers but I’m not expecting any issues.
Good light output all round good product good price
Very versatile and great quality lights, if Toolstation could buy these or lower the margins this would arguable be the best seller. Would highly recommend the product
Good product, easy to install and selectable colour temperature and brightness. Even on the lowest setting (4W) this downlight is brighter than the 50W dichroic downlight it replaces. Opted for Warm White too (WW on the back of the fitting), as CW (Cold White) and DL (Daylight) is too bright for our small bathroom (with three of these lights). Not sure how long they last as only just installed, only time will tell.
Great lights! Flexible colour temperature and wattage, easy connection and choices of interchangeable bezels. What's not to like?
Used on a number of installs and have always been happy. It seems Aurora, as one of the market leaders, can do no wrong. My go to choice for years. Great range of products too!
4,6, 8watt power setting. Warm white, cool white and day light colour temp setting. This fitting is a 6 in 1 fitting you can't go wrong! dimmable aswell.
I chose these LED downlights to replace some old failed items of different manufacture (JCC). I was conscious of the difference in specification - the Aurora units have more light output (lumen per watt) and a wider beam so I wanted to be able to adjust the power and colour to suit.
Suffice to say that they did the job perfectly and I ordered 12 more Aurora downlights rated at 6w & warm white. The difference between old & new is night and day.
Fitting is super quick and easy - the separate driver can be connected to the mains and the downlight plugged in afterwards. This avoids having it dangling whilst connecting the mains cable.
Great value. Highly recommended.
