The mortice brackets are brilliant, if they dont fit properly you can make them by slightly tapping or bending as some concrete post differ ,Ive used them on different post .
Good strong product made from tough steel with a smooth finish and no rough edges
Excellent bit of kit when replacing an Arris rail with already installed concrete posts. Needs a bit of hammering to make the tongue fit the mortice, but do it right and it makes a solid tight fit.
Easy quick fence bracket job can be done very fast
The brackets are very strong, but a bit of a tight fit. Which may not be a bad thing.
Easy to fit. I had to bend the end to fit in the holes in the concrete post, but nothing that couldn’t be done with a hammer.
Very good. However on very old concrete posts you need to "adjust" the bracket as the mortices are narrower.
Great item but needed trimming up to fit in the mortice slots on the concrete posts but overall a good item
I bashed the end that goes into the concrete pillar hole to shape it so it fits tightly into the hole. Then I knocked it in to the pillar hole with a hammer. Judge the force when hammering in not to damage the pillar hole ?
I used outdoor screws instead of nails to fix the bracket to the Arris rail
I am very pleased with the result
Absolute bargain for a pack of four arris rail mortice brackets. These made a huge difference to the ease with which I could replace some rotten fencing in my back garden. Without these, I would have had a much bigger job of replacing existing (perfectly good) concrete posts, with all the extra time and cost that would entail. Using these, I could just by some arris rails and featheredge boarding and quickly replace 6 metres of fencing with no fuss. These appear to be quality brackets which required some gentle hammering to to set in place in the concrete posts. They have resulted in a sturdy fence which I don't think is going anywhere soon. Highly recommended, thanks.
Excellent product you might need to bend it to the required size in order to fit the post
Good value, but these did not fit my c.20 year old concrete posts, so I had to manipulate them with a pair of mole grips. It would have helped if the Toolstation description included details of the minimum slot size (height, width AND depth) needed to accommodate them, as I also found that the space taken by the shaped wooden arris rail in the other side of the slot meant that I had to reduce the length of the arris bracket with a hacksaw.
Took a bit of mangling to fit - otherwise ok. It was in stock though so at least I had the means to repair it
They should fit most fence post holes using pliers to fit rather than the hammer i used
Very handy and inexpensive. Not many places sell them and when you need to replace an arris rail these are essential for of the ends! Just whack to the right shape with a mallet!
The part which fits into concrete post was a bit too large/tight, so used pliars and wrench to shape such that it fitted after a light hammer-in
Very sturdy bracket, but needs mangling with a large hammer before it will fit in a standard fence post mortice. Even then, 4 of the 6 holes are too close to the edge of the arris meaning that any sustantial screw will stick out of the other side when driven in. The screw holes should be closer to the apex of the arris, same for the other arris rail in the Toolstation catalogue.
Good fixing brackets for arris rails. Easy to use.
Does the job intended, but be prepared to manipulate the end bit that fits into the concrete post, as in my case the rectangular hole was quite small.
Useful bit of kit to mend fence when fixed concrete posts in place. Made task easy for basic diy person like me. Had to bash the metal a bit with a hammer to fit hole in post. Could not find product easily elsewhere to pick up in a store.
