A bit of a faff to set up the pressure relief plumbing but the valve was included and only needed me to order a tundish. Water is super hot. The 10l version fills a washing up bowl. Worth losing the extra space as miles better than an instant heater.
Hotty totty warm ho2 luvely luvely good for washing your tears away
Everyone hates the "do you wish to give to a charity" question when paying by card.
Easy to install - does the job. Replaced an old water heater that had disintegrated.
Heats up quick and works well, easy to follow instructions
Absolutely spot on. Instant hot water, no need to wait for hot water to come from the boiler other side of the cottage. Highly recommended
these are easy to install when conditions are right, last a long time and maintenance as low as it gets with unvented cylinders.
These can cost quite a lot of money to install as they are an unvented hot water heater. You should check first before purchasing one as you will need to be able to accommodate and run the discharge pipe to an appropriate location which many properties do not allow without additional work and cost, as the British G3 regulations do not recognise the other safe alternatives. In most cases you will need the full kit ABC to reduce the pressure to the taps.
when choosing your water heater the difference between power ratings depends on which your able to run. The 3kw version is for installations using a dedicated electrical circuit, the 2kw version is for those running off an existing ring or radial socket circuit. There is no noticeable running cost between the two as it takes the same amount of energy to heat the same amount of water. The higher rated version will heat the water faster, this is the advantage of the 3kw version. The use of an boost timer switch could be used to prevent the heater from being left on.
these may not be appropriate for many portable cabins and temporary use properties which could freeze unless you purchase the bottom feed version so you can fit a drain cock which will allow it to be drained easy without removal of the whole unit.
I normally use 8-10 turns of PTFE tape on the threads and tighten by hand the dielectric isolation nuts, its important to keep the PTFE tape just below the top thread in case it enters the pipe. The isolation nuts have a compressive washer inside so over tightening them needs to be avoided.
if your using no.6 screws for the bracket washers will be needed.
the heater is supplied with just the pressure release valve, nuts and bracket.
Needed water heater for out building this one worked very well
In small one bedroom flats, built for one person, why would you want to waste a whole cupboard by installing a water tank and immersion tank, when one of these will do.
I leave mine on all the time and have mains pressure hot water at two sinks.
Only drawback is that for the guarantee to last the term, the heater must be serviced each year and the sacrificial anode replaced periodically. The cost of this makes it cheaper to replace the tank when it eventually gives up the ghost. However, my last two provided five years of service, so I’m happy with that, and by the look of the sludge inside, I’d rather have a new one, than keep an old one going.
Great little unit and now I have hot water in my garage thanks!
Heater easy to hang on the side wall of the under sink cupboard, as this was a replacement for the 20 year old previous Ariston heater (no-longer available) plumbing had modified. Does what is should heats water, though I did have to wind up the temperature as the default wasn't hot enough for a kitchen sink.
