Unfortunately it did not freeze the pipe Followed the instructions to the letter and still lost water NO freeze Very disappointed and quite a cost out of pocket
Purchased to enable change of radiator valve which was leaking. Observing the instructions, I fitted the pipe wrap about 500mm from the valve, injected the spray and waited 1 mins before disconnecting faulty valve. Valve replaced in less than 30 mins without draining the whole system. removed wrap and allowed things to return to room temperature before restarting the heating. Quick, easy and no mess.
Froze my feed pipe allowing me to replace the connection to the radiator without draining everything down. Very easy to use.
I was a bit sceptical about using this as I was changing a mains stopcock, however I followed the instructions and it worked perfectly, no issues at all did exactly what I needed it to, the ice plug lasted for twenty minutes plenty of time to swap the stopcock.
Im very impressed as to how this performed. Very easy to use, saved me a few quid and a lot of time.
Brilliant piece of kit saved me draining the heating system. Lasted a good 15 mins.
Despite following all the instructions [and allowing an extra margin] the freezing did not happen - Just a small deluge of very cold water. This was therefore a total waste of time and money for me. It also put me off trying this method again.
Used this on an exposed, horizontal 15mm copper heating pipe as I needed to cut a section out which had a hole in it.
Pleased to say, I followed the instructions and everything went smoothly.
Service brilliant, however after following the instructions the pipe freeze did not work.
The product is satisfactory but the difficulty in using it other than on an exposed pipe, should not be underestimated. In the end I resorted to tuning off the system and partially draining it.
Bought 2 of these as needed to take out a small section of damaged pipe to replace. The tiny can is not enough to freeze a 15mm pipe, I used 2 cans and more in one jacket and had to use extra cans for the other jacket. Does not work as the i structuons and video make out!! I should of drained my system and tackled it would of been so much cheaper and easier.
I was sweating buckets when it showed signs of starting to thaw before I had finished. Put my hands up I did not make the zip wraps tight enough. I now know you must have them as tight as you can and your can will do the job with a little left in the can. You should be aware the fumes from this can is very hazardous to our ozone layer. Any left in the can should be returned to the store of purchase for safe disposal. This is serious
1st time user, pretty good, followed instructions to the letter. It lasted for probably about 15 minutes but that was enough time to get the job done.
This saved the day for me when I couldn't find any other way of shutting off the water supply to my shop unit. I used it on a pressurised pipe, feeding into a sink but fortunately the water must have been still enough for it to freeze.
I only needed long enough to slip on a lever valve but it stayed frozen for roughly 10 minutes.
I did get a really bad seal with the little straw and the nozzle though. It was spraying out everywhere at first which was the last thing I needed when my heart was already thumping at the thought of this going wrong! Wrapping it up with some PTFE tape sealed it up nicely though. I'd recommend doing that before you start.
Apart from that, brilliant.
Freezes the pipe well to stop the water. Was able to remove the radiator valve without too much fuss.
Used to replace a radiator. Saved having to drain down the system. Gave me plenty of time to carry out the work.
I needed to change the washer on our incoming cold mains stop cock, as it no longer seals off completely, and we don't have a stop cock outside the house, hence the purchase of this kit. However, despite using the full can on the 15mm copper pipe, and leaving it for even longer than the instructions specify, it never froze the pipe, so unable to carry out my repair. I guess it's only suitable for central heating pipework with the pump switched off.
dont like plumbing first time i have used this
EXCELLENT
recommend to all
I bought this, because l had a leaking pipe and had to change the connectors, it’s a great little kit, does exactly what it says on the description. And great on value for money as well.
Saved me when a numpty had installed a shower pump with no service isolators.
Works well, I didn’t get as long as manufacturers said I would, about 10 mins.
Gave it 4 stars as it’s quite pricey.
