Was quick and easy to install, 10 year battery life will be perfect, although I can't say anything about how long it will last at this point.

Fit and forget............easy installation, no hard wiring necessary, sealed battery so no servicing, it doesn't get much simpler than this............
We had our house rewired in December 2016 and had two Aico optical smoke alarms fitted at the time. Since then, we've had to replace units three times as the 10 year batteries failed! The last one was fitted early 2020. The battery in this one didn't last 10 months, let alone 10 years! The latest failed unit should, according to the sticker inside, be replaced by Aug 2030. It didn't make it to Aug 2020!
These smoke alarms aren't the cheapest and when they work, they work great. They're just let down by inferior back up batteries.
