Difficult to comment on acoustic properties but fills and sticks fine
Good acoustic filler. Do not use over a gap of 10mm as not very firm
As a sealant this gets 5 stars. As an adhesive it gets 0.
The tube is cumbersome and a larger gun required that most DIY (and a lot of trade) won't have. Online sellers stock the 380ml which Toolstation could also offer.
However, so much of this product is needed (if using as adhesive) you'd need the bigger tube. One 900ml tube was enough for one sheet of plasterboard when used as directed. But it doesnt stick. At all. There is zero grab and whilst the instructions say 'tamp down' actually mechanical fixings are needed unless you brace for a day.
As a sealant it is easy to use and smooth, and simple to clean up afterwards. You will need double, if not more, than you think you need.
Does what we need it to. Worked very well. Happy to recommend this product to potential customers.
Top marks for Toolstation for stocking this product. My only other option was on-line which meant that I couldn’t finish the job on the day. This is a very specific product used in construction of acoustic walls, it applies well and sets quickly, exactly what you need. I would recommend.
I had installed some soundproofing and needed to seal around the perimeter and in between acoustic plasterboards. The AC50 sealant has been very easy to apply and has created a smooth finish for skimming at a later date.
Used it for acu panels. Expands slightly and gives you plenty of time to work with. You need a bigger gun than a standard one
Good size to get the job done. Other shops sell tubes half the size for the same price
I used it to fit sound insulation panels to an internal house wall. Quick grab and hold. Goes a long way.
This is easy to work with and remains flexible, which i guess is part of the sound damping feature. With some clingfilm over the nozzle between uses you Beard a tube open for weeks without it going solid. Bear in mind that for the 900ml tube you need a big sealant gun, also available from toolstation.
Great product and very quick service. Unfortunately i didnt check the size and returned it but customer service was exceptional and exchange took minutes.
easy to use, plenty in a tub. Did take a while to set properly, But if you're in no rush then great.
Really good grab, easy to work with, very good adhesive properties. Used it to stick vinyl soundproofing direct to wall and plasterboard to plasterboard.
Good price per liter.
Had to buy quite a bit for a big job so happy with the amount i could get per liter.
Fills and holds well without much shrinking once dry.
Applies easily and cleanly. Bought for sealing vapour barrier over PIR insulation / stud wall. Time will tell how well it has performed.
It’s a large diameter tube so won’t fit in a standard gun.
Don’t think tool station stocked the correct sized gun but a similar competitor did….
I find the need to buy a 900ml gun for this a pain a lot of money and good for nothing else. Wish toolstation would stock a standard 330ml cart. Fine if you’re a specialist but for most of us putting up a sound proof wall isn’t a daily occurrence. It is cheap and you do plough through it, big nozzle makes it easy to get out (unless you’ve had it a while..then..forget it!) be advised for gaps deeper than 5mm (typically your joints will be 25mm or more deep) you should pack the joint with polyethylene cord or similar. It’s got plenty of body and screeds off neatly, clean up overspill with water..and quickly! I found (probably because I didn’t pack the back of the joints!) it sinks and sinks. Then …who knows why you need this stuff over regular sealant! You just do as you’re told with sound!
Great product - I use it as a light adhesive and caulk as it does not seem to shrink of crack much at all
Large tube, goes along way approx 30-40m with a 5mm to bead.
You have to pearce the tube through the nossle by using a long think stick, not supplied.
Good value and effective acoustic sealant - I've used it lots of times to isolate studs joists - it really helps reduce noise transfer
Does what it claims; the nozzle is actually fixed to the can, so it needs to be cut and then the seal pierced. Low smell, okay shrinkage, quick setting/drying.
