We have had a Yale system installed for approximately 7 years. Although it works, we have had to replace 4 Door/Window contacts within that time which we consider unacceptable regarding 'life span'.
Good product, easy install and addition to my security system.
Would have been 5 stars but they are an odd shape - I think the design team need to look at the types of doors people have, very few doors are flush with the frame. Not easy to mount them so the gap is 10mm or less.
Worked for about a year and now keeps alarming the system , says alarm battery low, changed , then alarmed with locked out system , and then just continuously alarming . Had to bypass it to stop it notifying and now have removed it . Very cautious about buying another as yale have not updated it since .
Not easy to fit as most frames/doors aren't flush.
product is not as per the instructions. I screwed the larger part to one side of the door but the samller side does not open.There are no instructionon how to open it. Why Yale do not havce install videos for all their products. Just having 4 pics is nowhere near enough. There are really no instruction, you have to just guess.
I bought these for my doors but the doors are uvpc and don't shut flush is there a way of leveling them out to get a good contact thanks
Bought this replacement door sensor. Seems to work. Arrived quickly.
Both of my upvc external doors have bevelled edges so this contact does not work with a standard upvc door unless a lot of modifications are made to get it to fit
Good size and easy to install but suffers from the limitations of a plastic case. If you’re not careful changing a battery can result in the case loosing integrity. Would be helpful if you could purchase replacement case assemblers.

It was easy to replace as the original which we had for several years gave up on us
I bought an alarm pack earlier this year and the door sensor is rubbish it keeps falling off due to the adhesive sticking used, the frame of my patio doors are sloped so just keep falling off, a stronger adhesive should be supplied with the alarm pack.
Needed to purchase this separately to main alarm system as needed two. Easy to instal and maintain. Need to be careful with gap between sensor and connector on door to ensure device is correctly detected trigger.
Works well, we have had to improvise with the installation of this Sensor. The screw for replacing the battery is on top of the unit, we have ours high up on the door, which means you can't get to the screw,
So we have reversed the position of the sensor, so the batter of the screw is easily accessible. Also had to fix an extension on the frame so that the sensor magnets line up
Bought three of these two years ago and two are not working correctly.
It works well with the whole Yale alarm system, but the spring is prone to dissemble resulting it a non-fuctional device
These contacts are a bit large compared to the old style. Also, the opening screw is at the wrong end. Works well though.
