I don't know how exactly it happened to the lock this one replaced, but the swivelling knob/handle broke and pulled away from the casing, leaving the occupant trapped in the flat. Just as well it wasn't an emergency. Until that point I liked this lock, because it needs the key to lock it closed and therefore guards against anyone getting locked out of a property or room. I wasn't present to see how much force was applied to the operating knob to cause it to fall apart, but a buyer needs to know that such a failure is a possibility. The broken lock was installed about ten years previously.
Works well - quite expensive though. we'll see how durable it is.
Purchased to replace a lock when the fire brigade had to force entry. It wasn’t an exact match for the existing lock, it is difficult to pick up the tongue from the rim cylinder (on a door that won’t keep still in poor light) and I had to fit it twice as the instructions weren’t clear about the orientation of the innards for the lock to operate. It doesn’t operate as smoothly as the old either.
These guys are the only people locally that stock this lock. I go through a few of them and they are always in stock and competitively priced
I needed an exact YALE deadbolt for a customers front door. My local TOOLSTATION had one in stock, It makes the job so much easier if you can find the item you’re looking for in stock.
Excellent quality and works perfectly for my application.
First one was broken, the mechanism sounded like it was scraping against a spring.
Toolstation ordered me a new one, which was then lost in transit, took me 5 days to get the replacement.
I'm a DIY'er but have lots of experience, the instructions that came with this were absolutely useless. I had to work out which screw went where by process of ilimination.
The lock is now fitted but was extremely fiddley due to how the smaller part fitted against the wall.
It's solid and works well, but not a great experience.

Good quality lock. Have had cheaper one's but they did not last. This is definitely more robust and feels like it should last a long time.
Contacted customer service for advice about this lock before buying it. However, when I got around to installing it, it didn't fit properly. Complete waste of money!
I’d originally bought another latch but as it had an outward opening door it was no good and this one acts as a latch in either direction plus a deadlock, very impressed with how solid it is.
A good, solid lock with a deadlock function, ideal for an outward opening garage door.
I used this on a reverse opening door. It’s a great improvement on a previous standard night latch, allowing mortice type deadlocking and safe keyless egress.
The unlock and lock procedure is quite unusual, when you unlock with the key, you have to turn the key back to the start, to extract the key.
Good quality product, good value and would buy again.
