Direct replacement (except that the plug is not exactly the same as the old Grundfos, so had to change that too). Simple set up, in spite of instruction book that contains no words at all! Hope it lasts longer than the Grundfos, which only managed 5 years.
Replacement for a 15 year old Wilo CH circulator that gave up the ghost
Easy to fit, great self bleeding mode and very quite with good range of speeds
Only real downside is the speed control knob is a little too easy to nudge - only relevant if installed in an accessible area like an airing cupboard
Resolved circulation problems on large system with 23 radiators including several extensions where pipe runs were not ideal. Flow rate far superior to Pico 6 for same power input. Very happy with performance

As a professional heating engineer, I have worked on and installed various make and models of circulating pumps. Without doubt I like the Wilo range the best. Fitting their 6m head pump when having to replace a pump (the normal pumps are 5m head but I prefer the additional oomph!). In certain circumstances when I have a large head height to overcome or excessive pressure lossing through a hot water cylinder coil I install the 8m head version. With an option of either a 130 or 180mm size you can replace an ordinary pump with this monster. The flexibility of adjustment and the ability to know exactly what is going on with the pumps operation is invaluable. With a 5 year warranty, what more do you want. A great bit of kit.
