My first thought about the Leansafe was how am I going to fit it in my Peugeot partner van but with a few adjustments it fits well, it also fits well on the roof rack. It is a extremely sturdy, a well made strong product which has many uses for all.
The initial step size is ideal height wise, obviously higher than the standard pair of steps but this allows you to at a safer working height, rather than over stretching and wobbling about. Opening the Leansafe into step 'mode' is a simple operation pressing the 2 red buttons on 'the barrel' and secures with a simple click, so there is no chance of collapse, the same goes with it in ladder 'mode'. This works well as with my telescopic ladder I am always conscious that one part of a segment could fail.
The wide footprint is an excellent idea as the weight load makes the Leansafe extremely stable no matter what 'mode' you have it in.
Turning it into ladder 'mode' can be a bit of a task if you need to use it on an interior stairwell or high ceilings, but in the exterior work it is fine and moves away from trying to split double or triple ladders apart which is a task in itself. Sometimes height of working equipment is paramount for a decorator and the Leansafe at the moment is fitting all my bases at the minute.
The Lean 'mode' is good for a quick fix where in step or ladder 'mode' can be to wide/high and the rubber cushion pads add an extra grip.
Regarding the top blue platform it is a pity there is no additional places to put any Werner add ons ( ie paint kettle holder) to and in ladder 'mode' trying to hold a kettle of paint removes the fact that you always have 1 hand free which I would find a great addition.
From my point of view the Leansafe is a great addition to any trade although I do think that there could be so much more potential in this product if it could be done to make it even more versatile.
