The pendant was good quality, unfortunately it cannot take a lampshade as the bulb holder is a single unit.

I have several of these in my house - they look great and are easy to install. However the bulb holder does not offer support for a shade - it’s best for use with a fancy bulb. I have done two work arounds: when I wanted to hang a vintage glass flycatcher shade I screwed 3 x 4mm hooks equispaced around the perimeter of the rose. Then suspended the chains from the hooks. When I wanted to hang a lightweight shade I replaced the bulb holder with a cheap one with ring support (it will be hidden by the shade).

Fitted this, but wanted to add a glass lampshade. Only way was to dismatle the top part 'ceiling rose', thread the lampshade on then reassemle the top of the light. Then with help holding the weight of the lampshade, to attach wires and then screw top 'ceiling rose' to ceiling attached bracket. Possible, but a faff. looks really nice though.
