The templates make it very easy to set out and looks great
Sashlock is great and well made but there is one issue. The reversable latch if the fit is too tight extends and stops you opening door when you push down handle resulting in you needing to pull door towards yourself before pushing down handle.

I bought this to replace an old style Union mortice lock. The lock matched the old one in size exactly which made the job very easy.

Replaced an existing Union lock with this one to have a euro cylinder instead. Dimensions were exactly the same so a nice easy swap.

This lock was a pain in the behind to fit, mainly because I was replacing an older lock. This lock was slightly taller and slightly deeper than the previous lock. Anyway, I got it perfectly sited and screwed in, worked perfectly. Then I remembered the face-plate - unscrewed the lock and put the face-plate on and it all went wrong. It somehow diverted the screws and all neatness was lost. The face-plate bent and I can't get the lock back in without replacing a huge chunk of door.
Why have a separate face-plate when they don't offer different finishes?
By the way, the lock back-plate is plastic.
