Works perfectly well, with one minor flaw. The on/off and zero buttons are right next to the friction screw. So easy to catch with your thumb or fingers tightening or releasing the friction. They should have been at the other end.
This is a hugely useful tool. I started out looking for a large protractor, but this provides so much greater precision at a very reasonable price. The only downside is that it tends to switch itself on with the slightest movement and will run down its battery. I spotted this quickly and I stick a piece of plastic film in to isolate the battery when I'm not using the tool.

I've heard about these having issues but gave it a benefit of a doubt. No, that's right. This stuff is faulty by design. Readings are inconsistent, vary with the level of pivot lock tightness, vary with temperature, vary with nothing seeming influencing it. The angle size would go up or drop before my eyes by a magnitude of 20 degrees, then suddenly reset and show some garbage on the screen. Returning the ruler to the initial position can leave you with an offset of 5 degrees. How can anyone use this tool for measurements if it is as reliable as our prime minster?
I have used this several times already. I dont know how I ever managed without it.
