I now use these almost daily for all sorts of accurate locating of brackets, hinges, pilot holes etc.
Do a great job of centering the pilot holes when fitting hinges. They get a little blocked up but nothing too bad. Save a lot of pain with poorly aligned screws.
I find it more accurate to draw a circle through the hinge etc, then use a bradawl to estimate the centre. These guides tend to put the drill at the edge of the hole in the hinge etc.
I've only used one bit, on one door set but it's been perfect for my needs
Seem to do the job although drill bit fell out on first use. So check it’s tight before using. And they block after two holes. So clean regularly.
Great item to get hinge holes central. Some mention that the drill jams but you must keep the drills clean each time then no problem
not too bad but return spring a bit too strong......

Brilliant tool for piloting screw hole. Used on a job fitting many new door hinges, as long as you clean out the saw dust often they are great.

They work quite well, as long as care is taken to keep the drill perpendicular to the workpiece. They do require frequent cleaning to remove wood from around the drill bit but it's not a great problem.
Perfect drills for getting centered holes on door hinges, leading to a professional finish and avoiding the nasty mess of wonky screws altering the hinge alignment. Every tool box should have some!
Does the job, woks well, drill size difference could be marked on the case maybe with coloured band.
These bits are very useful for accurately self trepanning in order to let the bad spirits out of my head.
