These smart thermostats are good devices. I recommend them. Easy to install and easy to use.
Entering boiler model was easier than trying to find existing WiFi thermostat.as it indicated on the Tado app that it wasn't compatible. All went well untill I tried to pair the stat with the receiver. Tried all the suggestions Tado suggested. Eventually the told me to change the settings in my router. 2nd time of trying it worked. All now is well but reluctant to give 5 stars due to difficulties in set up.
The tado app literally gives you step by step instructions for your specific setup. I've installed a few of these now , and always been easy to do .
Nice product that is easy to control. Installation is helped by the tailored app based on previous controller. Minor negative is the lack of space under the cable clamps for fitting existing wires.
I bought this when the Hive thermostat and receiver (left in the house when we bought it) refused to connect and left us without heating on a very cold day. The online installation instructions explained exactly how to transfer the wiring from the Hive system to Tado, and we had our heating system back up and working within an hour.
The Android app to control it seems to work fine, although we are currently still on the 7-day free trial of their AI system, which we won't renew as it turned off the heating and left our 17-year old in the cold when it noticed we'd gone out for the afternoon!
Use these may time . Good to wire and setup. Also had to ring them once for help and was quick and easy process.
I'm impressed with the Tado X Starter Kit. It was straight forward to replace the existing Honeywell timer with the Tado controller. The app guides you through the necessary steps, including labelling the wires so that everything can be reversed if need be. The I connected the wireless thermostat and everything was good to go. The Tado app is equally impressive. Now I can control my old Baxi Solo boiler remotely including the hot water supply.
I was a bit worried about fitting this myself but the app gave some super instructions and it made it really easy to fit. It connected up easily to the network. Only issue is some of the functions are subject to a subscription so make sure you read up on that. It's easy to set up using my phone with schedules and adjusting the temperature. Not sure what the others are like but so far I'm quite impressed

Looks the part, fairly easy for my electrician to install. Though the system is full of bugs. Tado support are slow, best luck I've had is discussing on the community forums to try and identify that there are bugs in the firmware of the wireless thermostat/programmer.
90% of the time it calls for heat correctly but once up to temperature it'll trigger the boiler off. Then 10-15 minutes later will call for heat again despite being up to temperature still. Restarting the thermostat makes it realise that it's at temperature and to stop calling for heat.
I would not recommend until Tado up their game and fix the bugs.
Easy fitting, clear instructions and does what more expensive "names" does!
Really easy to install. Works well so far, just need to save up for the thermostats now.
The app has lots of useful features.
