Good lid..but not an exact fit for my old plastic tank.
No worries though…I did some adjustments and it’ll do the job fine.

A generic lid that fits the standard size of 4 gallon tank typically used for feed & expansion tanks. Needed to cut out a bit for the expansion pipe. The lips of the lid clipped securely onto my tank, holding it in place. Also a good value and fair price at Toolstation, given that it's just a bit of moulded plastic. But it should stop spiders webs and dust and other debris from getting into the tank, as had been case before.

The size wasn't mentioned in the listing for this item, so I went to Toolstation and asked them to fetch me one. It's just over 450mm x just over 300mm, with rounded corners and a little lip and tabs to clip down over the expansion tank rim. These didn't quite work on my very old roof expansion tank but it still fitted surprisingly well. The tank before was uncovered and there were dead spiders and wasps in there and a huge amount of sediment in the bottom. I managed to carefully vacuum the detritus out of the tank with my wet-and-dry mini shop vac, and I covered the tank with this, so hopefully it will now stay clean. I had to cut a small slot from the lid to allow the primary circuit expansion overflow pipe to pass through, but I think I made a pretty neat job of that with sturdy shears and a Stanley knife, and a strip of duct tape is holding most of the piece I cut out back in place. The price of this seemed extremely reasonable too.

fits like a glove, which was unexpected as it was a different brand to my tank. clips into place and is easy to unclip if needed. keeps the tank clean and does help to stop any debris getting in
