Filled it with Blue Chalk and it worked straight out of the packet.

Great chalk line very easy to use nice long chalk line and easy winding
This is much better than other brands on the market with good solid winding mechanism holds a descent amount of line.
Not the best, my line had a nick in it from day one and catches as it’s pulled out. It also seems to put out quite a bit of dust/chalk as you pull out the line.

Large chalk capacity & solid construction. Chalk line anchor latches neatly onto the side, avoiding tangling in the tools.
I’m not actually sure what this is for but it’s so much fun. Basically you get a big long string that’s covered in chalk. How hilarious is that. So far Iv used it for skipping, which is so funny, because you get a big blue chalky cloud every time the string hits the pavement. I had so many strangers come up to congratulate me and that never happens when I do regular skipping. I tried to use it as a bike chain. Don’t know why I thought it would work. But obviously it didn’t . It just got all tangled up and my bike got all dusty. A person actually came up to me and called me “an arrogant little computer scammer”, and that literally never happens. The best thing Iv used it for yet is whipping. I hid in my mums kitchen for hours until she got back from work. And then when she came in and turned the lights on, I pulled back my arm with a long Length of it and whipped it at her as hard as I could. Oh it was so funny. It made a tremendous cracking noise and it struck her right in the teeth. She had a blue mouth for hours. She wasn’t hurt and she doesn’t mind stuff like that. I definitely don’t recommend you use it for that purpose yourselves. Just stay at home and listen to the pigeon detectives. Leave this to the real men.
The device works just great, and enjoyed the promo price, but - big but - it would have been useful to be told on the website it doesn’t come loaded or with any caulk. 2nd visit required grr.
