Good product works well little over priced but very easy to fit
A really useful and convenient way to allow draining down of a central heating system, when some numpty has not fitted a drain down cock.
I couldn't find it in current catalogue, but new you stocked them.
This time I need the 22mm adapter. Works brilliantly.
There is also a compatible 3/4" fitting. The add in and washer tap fittings provide a flexible system.
This gizmo got me out of a fix when I had to replace a weepy joint on the heating. Once zone valvesoff, this drain enough to fix problem.
Handy kit allowing fitting of drain to pipework without having to drain down system. I used on a system which previously didn’t have a drain. Used in conjunction with 22mm adapter kit.
Fantastic little bacon saver. The drain plug insert on my Father-in-laws hot water tank sheared (not me) which made it impossible to drain out the 120L of water to install a new low level immersion element. This little beauty with its 22mm pipe adapter (sold separately) saved the day. It took only about 5mins to install and we were off without a single drop spilt. My installation advice would be to not overtighten the clamp as it has a rubber sleeve with a curved end which acts as a gasket to the pipe. I tried to install the clamp first and discovered that the rubber deformed upon tightening which may have made threading in the plug difficult. Instead install the clamp hand tight with a screwdriver then thread in the plug with its cutting end until it contacts the pipe. Then tighten the clamp before winding in the plug. It will be firm so you need to use a spanner to tighten in. Not a single drop of water was split and was such a good experience that I will likely simply leave this inplace rather than repair/re-solder a new drain. Wonderful invention.
Good product, easy to install. Good solution if you need to drain system down
Excellent if there’s no drain off fitted , I would have had to drain a radiator and connect onto the valve to drain the system I had to work on. Doesn’t look that great but it could be removed and the pipe replaced if needed. But otherwise very convenient
Did a reasonable job although care is needed to ensure the rubber gasket does not block the fairly small aperture in the drain valve.
I used these to drain a central heating system and then removed the valve and soldered in a permanent drain off point.
So easy to use. No leaks at all. Just what i needed
I didn't have an easy way to drain the system as the kitchen radiator (with a drain cock on) had been removed, and I needed to drain a 22mm pipe in the loft so I also bought the 22mm adaptor piece. I thought there was no way that the self cutter would work without spraying water everywhere, but there wasn't even a drop of water when cutting into the pipe, and it was only when I opened the drain cock when the water came out, nice and controlled, and was great to be able to fill up a bowl, turn off the drain cock, and empty the bowl into a bucket, then fill the bowl again etc. until the section of pipe was drained.
Does exactly described. East to use and gets you out of a situation in seconds.
Got me out a fix as needed to drain down system to fit a new radiator that had no drain cock fitted and this product allowed me to do it
Good price, was in stock. Quality is good and allowed me to fit a drain off point as old one had seized
Even though it punctured the pipe only a dribble of water actually came out even with the tap fully open. As it was my only option on a heating system this wasn't ideal.
Very good price and much simpler to fit than I expected. Only took 5 minutes. Very happy.
A good quality product and very easy to fit without any pipe cutting or soldering required.
The Self Cutting Drain Off Cock is a brilliant product - enables you to drain a system when the existing cock doesn’t work or was omitted by an installer.
Easy to install when there’s no way of draining the system down quickly with no mess.
Easy to use and does the job just as a soldered unit but without the extra pipe work
