I wanted a premium gun so went for a pricey Roughneck one but having tried my 2nd one now both failing the same way, I have to say they are unfit for purpose. So i have just had the contractor version, previously had the professional non stick version. Both blocked up in no time. I am meticulous with my guns, always use acetone after each use and blast it through between cans. The 1st one, the pro version failed as the foam would only come out very slowly no matter how far i opened the dial. It was almost a year since my purchase and i had left the can on for a couple of months so thought ok, this might be my fault. I dismantled and cleaned it to see if i could fix the blockage and found the o ring for the plunger within the nozzle which sits just in front of the trigger had gummed up. Nowhere else, the bearing and the barrel were fresh and clear. The only way it could have foamed up there is if that o ring had been letting air in. I could have kicked up a stink for a replacement but i had taken it apart and didn’t have the time so put it down to a one off and went and optimistically bought the contractor version. Now, a couple of months into using it and the same problem occurs. Foam dribbling out, the pressure from the can amost completely restricted, even with the dial fully open. I haven’t dismantled this one but am sure it’s the same issue as everything else externally is clean, even when removing the can i can see there is no build up around the bearing. Now fuming writing this as my time has been wasted and need to go and buy yet another foam gun. A shame, won’t be buying another Roughneck one.

Second one I’ve bought, first one is still working perfectly over a year later, only used occasionally so always think it’s going to be gummed up and ready for the skip, but no, it is like new! Always shut the flow valve and leave the can screwed on. Got a second one for wall board adhesive foam.

I bought this gun a couple of years ago and at the beginning it was great. Easy to clean, easy to handle, no leaks up to a month with the can still on. Then it started to build up at the nozzle with time (trust me, foam cleaner was used every time I stopped spraying and every can change I screwed the cleaner on to clean the inside)… So I took it apart once and cleaned it up and it was ok it eventually got scratched at the coated nozzle and it was getting grubby, so I scraped the whole lot and polished it, it came up nice. Second time I took it apart to clean it, which it wasn’t that bad inside), when I put it back together and screwed in the cleaner, it was leaking at the very end tip, but stopped when screwing the trigger up. The can holder snapped as well, so this is useless to me now. They reckon it has life time warranty, but let’s face it, it’s not going to happen. Might buy another one, but maybe the cheaper option of the same make. They are handy and the can lasts way longer than the other cans.

I have had a couple of foam guns and their longevity is linked to how well the user (me) cleans them. This one is easy to clean because of the exterior coating. But I am not letting the foam cure on the end of the gun anymore, I am washing it off with acetone. Only time will tell if this is any better than other guns of the same price. I expect they are all made in the same place.

Well it hasn't got gummed up yet, so that's a start. Too early to comment on longevity but so far so good.

Much better

This is my third foam gun and the first decent one I've bought. I usually get the cheapest one available. This has better controllability and the PTFE costing make it far easier to clean up. Recommended

I bought this after my previous 2 guns had failed (one clogged completely despite cleaning and one had failed seal in the trigger and leaked foam).
I was recommended to get a 'non-stick' PTFE type and it is an absolute game changer, so easy to wipe clean s don't get the annoying build up on the tip. Seems very well made. Happy so far and seems well worth the extra money over the non-coated versions.

Does the job but not very comfortable to use as the Soudall's own. I could not get one as not in stock to take away, could have got one next day, but needed it urgently

Had a few different foam guns over the years but can tell this is better quality. Smoother trigger allows for precision and the coating that it has is non stick so easier to keep clean

Recently had no less than 3 of a competitors foam guns, all 3 faulty. I was dubious about paying the extra money for this one but the difference in quality is like day & night! I really think the PTF coating helps and it has so much better control with the trigger.
