I actually didn't buy the pick. I did at first then luckily before I took it home, opened the box and realised I bought the wrong tool! I needed the Mattock without pick instead. It was a gift for a friend who needed to uproot a garden full of brambles. I have used a mattock for years in gardening and ground work and I see them an essential tools in landscaping. The pick end not so much. I always prefer wooden handles anyway but these plastic ones do the job pretty well and some may even prefer them. Overall decent tools when you need them
We're reclaiming an overgrown garden with lots of builder's rubble buried in it. This tool is invaluable. Easyto use and great quality.

Fantastic tool, the only thing that is able to get down through my bamboo roots. Also able to dig narrow trench. Very solid, will take a full golf swing with no problems.
Needed a pick to breakup buried rubble beneath flower bed and this did the job in seconds rather than struggling with fork and spade for a couple of hours. Since used to dig up up path subbase ready to lay gravel. Head is a nice weight and heavy enough for the job. Handle strong but light and easy to lift.
Very ergonomic and gets the job done very quickly and effortlessly. I dug out 120 square meters of rubble filled garden in a day or so and I am not a builder.
Good quality tool. Pick axe and mattock combined. Good weight, good comfortable handle. Good value. Just one caution- the enclosed leaflet says it should not be used for 'pryi ng' which is often what pick axes are used for. Apart from that, a great tool.

Used on some very bad ground. I didn't make much impression on it but that's the ground not the tools. The good bit is while I got hot and sweaty and the assorted rocks, bricks and clay laughed at me the tools weren't at all damaged and were as comfortable in hand as anything I've swung into bad ground. So at least I didn't get blistered.
Bought to help dig out roots and soil around a tree stump. What a tool it’s surprisingly powerful!
