Works well on exterior fence panels. Applying it once a year with a 4” foam roller builds up a lovely amber colour that looks really classy.
Did downstairs internal doors, lovely shine after one coat. Not sure if 2nd is needed.
Great product and gives an excellent finish. Easy to clean brushes afterwards too
Used to coat pine slats in airing cupboard. Gave a lovely hard gloss shine, as long as its rubbed down with very fine grade steel wool between coats. Doesn't smell too overpowering in use as some others do. Very happy to recommend.
Gets a great shine at the end of all your coats. I recommend thinning it down though.
Easy to apply product with a good appearance when dry.
Good stuff. Although I was a bit apprehensive when I read the info on the back which said it had an amber hue on painted surfaces. I still went ahead and no amber hue showed up on my painted tables. I went for gloss because I love a high sheen and it's perfect on my nest of tables which I've upcycled.
Nice finish, easy to use and sensible price. Usual helpful service at Newbury branch
Very good, would buy it again, high quality gloss...
brilliant result table top looks like glass after 3 coats really please
Brushes on well and dries to a high gloss. Very little change to wood colour.
Gives an excellent finish - fumes are a bit strong so plenty of ventilation is required. Used this on a table top and happy that with this coating (4 coats applied) wont need placemats. Sands down well between each coat and gives a really smooth finish - I used a synthetic pain brush)
Only just used this, so I hope that it's protection is long-lasting. It's easy to apply, and the finish is firm with a good gloss effect. Only a small item varnished so far, so have no idea about coverage
A decent varnish at a good price. Very low tint when dry.
Great product does exactly what it says on the label
Excellent high gloss finish.
With a light sanding after first coat had dried. . Second coat dried extremely well.
Would recommend.
Covers well but takes a couple of days to harden properly. You will need patience
Very easy to brush on horizontal surfaces but need to be very careful on vertical surfaces as it may start running down and once it dries , depending on the item varnished, you may not be able to do anything about it
Very nice finish, super-glossy, easy to apply and not too smelly. Used 3 light coats with sanding in-between, fantastic looking finish.
Following the instructions I stirred thoroughly to absorb any "sediment" which apparently might have been present...
To my surprise on application I found the product had numerous brown bits in. Particles over a 1/4" long is not sediment in my view , its either skin or impurities.... With some effort you could mostly brush them out but the number increased as I went down the tin. In the event I was using the varnish to seal P5 flooring in a new timber workshop so it was a minor irritation. If I had been doing something with furniture or where a quality finish was needed it would have gone back...
This stuff isn't cheap but Barratine products are usually excellent, I don't know what has happened here - check carefully before using.....
