Good product, easy to apply and covered well leaving a nice finish
This is not actually iron oxide. Nowhere on the product label does it say iron oxide or that it has any rust inhibiting properties. Also the website description doesn't claim that it's iron oxide or that it has any rust inhibiting properties. The only place iron oxide is mentioned is on the bottom of the can, printed in dot matrix inkjet, suggesting this refers to just the paint colour name. The website description does actually say for indoor use only, which says it all. I took it back for a refund. Looking at some of the review photos I'm not the only one to have bought this by mistake.
Was initially going to use brush paint, but found this to be much more economical. After wire wheeling and feather edging good paint sprayed with this and again after two hours and again overnight. Blew out through the nozzle with wd40 between coats to prevent clogging. This made a great base for the red top coat

Good coverage, no sputtering and seems to provide a reasonable level of protection. Most Plastikote products appear to be high quality. I’ve used this and the weld through zinc primer quite successfully on many occasions.
Covers well, good value, would buy again, sound....
Does the job easily but takes longer to clear the nozzle when finished (by holding upside down and spraying) than rivals so could be considered to waste paint in the process.
Great Primer sprays smoothly and easily covers, dries quickly with a god finish requiring little preparation for further coats of colour. Great coverage .
No matter how much I shook the can the paint wouldn't spray out properly. It was very narrow spray pattern and kept spitting. It left an awful finish. I'm glad it wasn't the top coat.

Satisfied with the coating, easy to apply and dries quicker than traditional priming. Colour was in the right direction of red so was easier to paint over than traditional white primer.
Bought this as i was unsure which primer / undercoat to use for the Pro-Coat industrial black spray paint. Very happy with the results. Goes on lovely and thick without any runs and dries really smooth in approx 20 minutes at room temperature. Would certainly use this product again.
This stuff goes on thick and dries fast - not much else to say!
