I used this to locate a leak on a roof, and it was very useful. The colour was not very intense and when I shone a (very cheap) UV torch onto the solution I could detect little or no flourescence. Perhaps my colour vision is somewhat abnormal, but I was surprised. Of course the colour is there when very diluted as appropriate for tracing drains with large flows. In my application I used only a very small amount: much less than a teaspoon in all for perhaps 5l or so. A little expensive, but much better value than offers pre-dissolved on ebay.
Powerful stuff. Used one tea spoon in 15L bucket of water, was enough to colour an entire bath full of water and i found where the water was coming out easily, especially with a UV light.
To be fare the bottle was smaller than I expected. But then again it something I don’t use a lot. More than enough for the task at hand. As they say “does what it sez on the tin”.
Works brilliantly and clearly showed the drain was running well.
Amazingly persistent! I created a 4.5l solution of this powder and then used that to dye the drainage water. Definitely wear gloves as it really stains everything – the grass, anything you spill it on, your hands! Even when the visible yellow wears off, you will be fluorescing under UV light for a week.
It didn’t help in my case finding out whether the drainage ran, but at least I can investigate further with a more technical solution.
I’m pretty sure the remaining concentrated 4litres or so will see me out!
I'd never used anything like this before so didn't know how much to use. Just put 2 teaspoons of powder in a bucket full of water. Poured the lot into a manhole with a hose pipe running as well. Had a result in seconds. It came out in a neighbours yard, nowhere near any drain. Wish the repair was as easy. Many thanks to the staff at Hexham for there advice.
Couldnt mistake where the drain tracing fluid went . Very bright and conspicuos.
Would use again easy and simple to apply and use.
Does what it says on the tin/container, its use was monument-aly easy, there is no hiding from this material, flushed through like a dream, pretty colour to.
Great stuff works wonders. The dye does what you'd expect and needs a lot of dilution so lasts a long time!
Wear gloves obvs!
Product worked really well. A capful flushed down the loo was more than enough to turn the water bright green.
Service was also great. Ready to collect within 10 minutes of ordering, and when I did collect, I was in and out within about 20 seconds!

Very useful for tracing leaks in all situations, but requires care when dispensing from the container. Gets everywhere if a bit of wind gets hold of it while you are tipping it out into a bucket. Also requires some careful planning to avoid confusing results.
Very handy to find the source of a leak. Used to pour in an outside drain to see where the crack was. Able to follow the coloured liquid along the pipe
Great product this, we use this for testing roofs but me and the boys in Toolstation Washington cover ourselves in this on a night after works and jet wash each other down, its great fun and we have started a club call, dye yourself silly. Its a great laugh chasing each other around naked whilst your little old man is wacking all over the place. We always finish the night off by giving each other a trojan helmet.
