Cheaper at toolstation so good value for money, well made and easy to use. Very happy with the product.
Useful tool, well made. It’s a simple concept that works really well and halves the number of soldered joints needed to extend copper pipes. Provided you are competent at end-feed soldering the results are excellent. One point to remember however; you really need to anneal the copper pipe you plan to swage with this tool (i.e. heat to dull-red then quench in water). No need to worry that the pipe will then be weak/soft in service as the copper will work harden during the swaging process. It’s also prudent to use shaped soft-jaws or blocks of wood to grip the length of pipe during swaging although in the case of 15mm it’s just possible to hold the pipe by hand.
Awesome bit of kit perfect for when you've had a burst pipe and it's too expanded for a fitting
Basic, simple tool, which just works, that's it...
Finally bit the bullet for a jointer and this is just the ticket , throw them couplers away, a bit of accuracy and might is needed , not for snowflakes , well done monument. Made in the U.K. too and the pipes look smash!
Really well made high quality tool! glad I now have this edition to my toolbox, works well and does what it’s supposed to do.
Excellent for learning to solder, by quickly making female socket connections in normal solder pipe. works best if you soften the copper first by heating to a dull glow then cooling in water.
Although I have been told the building inspector does not accept joints made with these tools they are very useful in a tight spot where conventional methods are unavailable.
Works but would work better with a longer slide. Plastic handle quickly falls off in use.
Many years ago, back in the early 80’s, there was an “old boy” who used to have one of these, I really wanted one, but had never seen one for sale before seeing them here. It makes such a neat job, with only one end to feed with each joint, so over time would pay for itself in less flux & solder, plus less cleaning up to do and it looks so much neater than an end feed, straight fitting. Best new bit of kit I’ve bought in a while, love it!
