FOUND MY EXISTING BULB HOLDER CAME APART WHEN I TRIED TO TAKE THE DEFECTIVE BULB OUT.
FORTUNATELY, TOOLSTATION HAD MK REPLACEMENTS IN STOCK, WHICH MADE REPLACING EASIER, DUE TO THEIR COMPACT SIZE. WELL DONE AGAIN, WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOU?
It’s a lamp holder! It holds a STD bayonet bulb and shade! Not sure what else to say fairly easy to wire
Good product, well made, good price was easy to install and looks great.
Simple product to repair my old brittle bulb holder. I just used the bulb holder as simple quick fix.
Poorly finished & a rubbish redesign of the internal connections of the lampholder. What so called ‘designer’ put the wire screw connector BEHIND where the flex wire has to be routed ? !!! Will NOT buy this item again - it lets down the EXCELLENT quality that MK has its reputation for.
Initially tried to unscrew the wire holder screws, only to find that one had been screwed in by Thor. Took ages to get the screw moving. Also the pasticpart that holds up the light shade was very easy to cross thread
useless as only need shade holder but does not fit
Used lamphoder in stained glass lamp my wife made. The clamp that holds the cable is useful.
Good quality lampholder with extra cordgrip and easier to fit
Good value for money and does the trick. Would recommend
Standard attachment fitting for a ceiling pendant light. Does the job.
It is exactly what I needed and on the shelf at a good price. Thanks again for saving the day.
MK Lampholder BC Cordgrip. It’s MK do I need to say any more?
For MK, this is poor quality, the lower section which should hold up the shade does not work as the threaded portion has three sections missing. Having tried to screw this up without success, I rummaged in my spares box and found a fully threaded one which worked first time.
Held a heavy metal light shade no problem. As its bayonet it doesn’t matter what end you put the wires in.
Bog-standard bayonet lamp holder but signs of cheapness. The moulded edges of the white lampshade retaining ring were rough and needed smoothing. The spring pins were not centrally located in the places moulded for them.
On the positive side, the actual lampholder was all metal, not plastic moulded around a metal inner. Less of an issue now with modern lamps running cooler than the old incandescent types.
It works well enough but not well-enough made for the premium price. Better however than a poor BG product that it replaced having failed after five years or so.
Maker's mark is visible inside if looked for. Packed in unmarked polythene bag with no indication of the country of manufacture.
Toolstation, you need to get your act together and provide details of company ownership and manufacturing origin for those who wish to purchase products ethically.
Straight forward to connect a 1.5 cable. No earth. Just live and neutral. Good buy and easy install.
