This is a cheaper option for this type of tool, does job. It's worth
Works well and easy to use. As a budget crimping tool is great value.
Crimping pliers that are good value for money, work well with modern crimps of all kinds. Nice soft easy action with the levers (handles) not being to far apart, would buy again if I needed them. Now is time to see how long they last .
I used this with red crimps (SKU 69179) and 0.5mm cable. Unfortunately it didn't crimp tight enough, the cable slid out every time. It's not in the instructions, but I noticed a screw and cog wheel on the front of the tool, and used this to adjust it to the maximum pressure - but this still wasn't enough to crimp securely. I ended up using a pair of mole grips which got the job done quick enough. Returned item for a full refund.
Good quality tool, crimps perfectly. I had to adjust the crimping depth for 1mm wire, but I got really solid connection after that. Would buy again.
This ratchet crimper is brilliant - I’m not a heavy user but I’ve used it a fair amount, and it’s worked very well. For the money it’s perfect for me
After adjustment this crimper performed well on red insulated spade terminals but poorly on red insulated barrel terminals, hence the 4 stars; this may have been due to the quality of the barrel terminals; as i had a lot of spade terminals to fit the tool was worth buying.
It is not that often that I am disappointed with anything bought from Tolstation in the instance, I have come close to rejecting this as not fit for purpose. There is no real compression when crimping the red crimps, it is easy to pull the wire out of the crimp. The chosen wire was on the lower end of the stated AWG, it may be better with a cable on the upper end. QED.
Great tool, easy to set up and allowed me to fix car horn
These pliers are useless. Despite carefully matching the terminals to the wire gauge, and checking the strip and wire length. The outcome was always the same. The crimp could not grip the wire. It could be pulled apart with no effort. I borrowed another crimper, same wire, same terminals success. Might make a good paperweight.
I recently retired and had to return my employers tools, so I've been rebuilding my tool kit. So, I bought one of these minotaur crimping tools. Only recently had cause to use it and by god what crap. I used around a dozen 1.5mm 6mm ring crimps on 1.5mm cable before I got a connection that stayed in the crimp and that was by placing a nail into the crimp to cause it to greater collapse on the wire.
Bought as a back up pair. Seem to be good so far and good value for money.
Crimps well and at a great price. Worked brillantly with the crimp tubes I also bough
Excellent bit of kit, used it for the first time today and it did the job with ease.
This seems to be the same adjustable crimp tool that is sold under various names. It works well, provided that you adjust it as required. Some of the other reviewers who complained about loose crimps seem to have missed exactly this: it has an adjustable toothed wheel, although mine came with the adjusting screw absurdly tight.
Good quality set of crimps for a good affordable price
Seems to be solidly built. I moved the adjuster wheel for it to be slightly firmer than it was. It took some experimenting to make a successful crimp, but then it was fine. A diagram would have helped. You need to feed the wire in on the left.
A bit flimsy and difficult to adjust. Cheap though so can't complain
Excellent, works as it should, strong construction.
Does the job well. Strongly built, simple to use, great price. Can crimp all 3 sizes single-handed, leaving other hand free to keep the wire and crimp aligned correctly.
