Great price, did just the job for small project, would definitely recommend.
The 11” finishing trowel has quickly become one of my favourite tools for skimming. The size is ideal — large enough to cover good ground, but compact enough to give excellent control, especially around edges, reveals, and tighter areas where a bigger trowel can feel awkward. It has a really comfortable balance in the hand, which makes longer sessions much easier.
The blade has just the right amount of flex, allowing you to achieve a smooth, consistent finish without leaving lines or chatter marks. It glides nicely over the plaster, and once it starts to firm up, it polishes beautifully with very little effort. The handle feels solid and ergonomic, giving you confidence and precision while working.
Durability is excellent too. The blade keeps its shape, doesn’t warp, and cleans up well after each use. It’s a reliable, well‑made tool that performs exactly how a finishing trowel should.
If you want a trowel that offers great control, a clean finish, and a comfortable feel in the hand, the 11” finishing trowel is a brilliant choice for both DIY and professional work.
Bought this to patch up a few holes in walls before I paint spare. Room out does the job get a nice smooth finish on the plaster good price aswell good quality steel finish
I'm an amateur, but got decent results with this trowel
Great piece of kit easy website to use and great price. Friendly staff when I went to pick uo
Nice budget trowel. Good finish produced. Incredible value for under £10
I had read a few reviews prior to buying the Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2".
One reviewer has said that after use (and cleaning), the plate of the trowel showed a slight surface rust. I can confirm after purchasing the Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2", that it is the case. Despite drying the plate thoroughly it did develop a rust discolouration on the plate after it's first use.
I have stored the Minotaur Finishing Trowel with a coating of oil on the plate until I use it next.
Hopefully that will stop the plate from rusting.
Another reviewer had said that the plate on their Minotaur Finishing Trowel had a flaw on it that left a mark on the plaster as they used the plate. I can also confirm that the corner of the plate on my Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2" had an imperfection that left a mark.
I had to smooth out the imperfection using a small hammer and sandpaper before continuing to use the plate.
To summarise:
I purchased the Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2" because it was substantially cheaper than other Finishing Trowels. I had never used a Finishing Trowel before and I suppose that I did not know what to look for or how much I would need, or use one.
I could have returned the Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2". I did not. I chose to take a chance.
I have fixed the flaw on the plate. I was lucky that the flaw was at the corner of the plate and that it could be made fit for use. As to the rust on the plate well my hope is that a coating of oil on the plate when it is in storage will prevent any damaging rust from eating my Minotaur Finishing Trowel
Time will tell.
Despite the build quality issues I have never had a better finish. The walls are smooth and I have save a lot of time and effort by using the Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2"
If you are still considering purchasing the Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2" check your Minotaur Finishing Trowel at the counter in person if you can do so.
As to the rust issue I cannot predict if a layer of oil on the plate after use will stop the rust. My hope is that it will. I see the rust issue being a constant threat to the plate of the Finishing Trowel.
The Minotaur Finishing Trowel 11" x 4 1/2" is relatively cheap. That does not excuse poor quality but it does give us an option.
Buy expensive or buy cheap.
My recommendation would be to purchase a higher quality Finishing Trowel from TOOLSTATION that comes highly recommended by tradespeople.
Decent quality but does rust easy if not dried properly
Imperfection on the face of the trowel. It was ok for the job I was doing, but if I had bought it for plastering I would have returned it.
Good value, got the job done and the handle is very comfortable.
Good tool for the small job I needed it for and very competitively priced.
Easy to use nice and smooth finishes good handle to hold
I've used it to finish some concrete I have laid. Good value for money.
Finish wasnt smooth on the too so impossible to get a good finish plastering. Couldnt be bothered to return as i used it.
I bought a plastering trowel a few years ago. Thought it was time for a change. Bought this one which was great to use.
Difficult to make a fair comparison as previously used a tiling trowel. But this was able to complete a decent plastering job as a novice.
Bought to give fresh edge to a bit of spot plastering. When I came to use it, the handle was loose rendering it useless. Luckily, still had my old branded float to do the job instead.
Good quality for the price.Collected same day from local store
Trowel had a fault that made it unusable. Small blemish on the edge that would leave a mark in the finish.
As a Diy item, this is perfect for the job.
Nice grip.
