Brill piece of kit, was tempted to go cordless as I have some Makita battery older model drills and drivers which are fab but cost put me off (battery different size so could not switch and swap) and please I did as very powerful, cord keeps out of the way and great value for occasional use.
The saw itself is very good and much better than the budget model it replaced. I'm taking a star off because the box it came in was damaged.
Just bought this for a diy project I am undertaking at home and found the price was reasonable for the item and it was delivered within 3 days
This is a well made tool. It feels sturdy and both the depth and angle of cut can easily be adjusted. It come with a good storage case.
The only problem with the case is that the saw doesn't really fit on the insert inside. It feels as if it would fit better without the blade but it's not practical to take the blade off every time you put the saw away. That doesn't take away from he saw though.
I first used it to trim kitchen plinths. I bought a finer toothed blade than the one supplied which cut through very easily and accurately using the guide and left a clean edge.
There are a lot of cheaper saws about but I think you get what you pay for. Very pleased with it and it was delivered promptly.
Read a lot of reviews when choosing which saw to buy and we have been very peased with the saw since its arrival. Its lightweight and cuts as expected. Reasonable length of the power cord and storage box stacks and carrys well. We have cut a mixture of hardwood and softwood and the blade it is supplied with suffices for the jobs without burning the wood
Excellent product from Makita, does what it says it on the tin. Online reviews justified - did purchase a finer blade for the job at hand, as the one supplied is more of a general use type. Item swiftly supplied at my local Toolstation
the saw seems solid. the base plate seems flat and the controls for adjusting angle and depth of cut seem firm.
the saw has a nice start from zero rotations per minute and is also much more accurate than my previous saw (but, to be honest, so is woodworm).
this Makita saw has a solid and well made feel to it and I'm happy that the blade doesn't move from vertical as it cuts through the wood, which was the case with my previous saw!
I also like the quietness and smoothness of this saw. my previous one was a diy shed special and about 15 years old. time will tell how reliable this Makita turns out to be but it seems like it will last for a while. I don't think circular saws die on you like other electrical tools can.
Good saw and powerful. Watch out for the guard jamming on long cuts
Excellent saw, does the job perfectly, wish I had bought it years ago
Cuts really well. Easy to use. Good price. Light weight given the size
A study case, as with other Makita tools, protects this saw. Absent soft start or breaking, this is back to good old school circular saws. So far so good. Unlike battery, there is plenty of power and the dust exhaust works for right handed people (blows to the rear/right). Only complaint would be the power cable as something you have to keep an eye on - an sold School problem for a reliable workhorse.
Easy to find what I wanted. Simple to order. Quick delivery.
Best one I’ve owned it actually cuts on the line it’s supposed to
Great product and service
Perfect for what we needed, great service from tool station
Cuts easily and cleanly. The depth adjustment is quick and easy and requires no tools. The width adjustment could have been better, since you have to factor in the width of the blade. the best way to adjust i found was to align the cut with the blade and then tighten the width adjustment. Comes in carry box and generous lead.
i read around and went with this one based on the number of positive reviews. I did buy and send back a smaller one before this one - do think about what you need it for before buying!
