These seem to be a decent quality for their price. They kept their sharpness after a fair few 500mm deep holes through some Glulam.
Pricewise the set of 4 is the equivalent or cheaper than a single premium brand bit.
It’s true what they say you get what you pay for. It didn’t take long for any of the bits to lose their ability to drill without generating a lot of heat and losing their edge. They were cleared more often than you would normally expect to have to remove any debris. Having said all of this, they were used in a difficult job outside and maybe, they would last longer and be more suitable for the easier jobs indoors. Would I purchase again, probably not although I did complete my work having discarded the two smaller bits very early on and using the larger for what could only be described as reaming and clearing.
As per title . . Did the job but don't think they will last for long . . Needed for odd jobs when hanging gates . . Cheap price tho .
Used these to drill out rotten fence post set in concrete and found them of good quality
Great set. I used the largest size to create some holes in noggins for pulling cables. Straight through no problems. The length was just right from my loft downwards
Bought these not expecting much as the price is at the lower end and while they might be ok for soft wood I was drilling Holly and as the steel is soft it kept requiring sharpening so not very good for the job.
If you want some really long holes in wood, then this may be for you. They are incredible value for money!
Did the job they were intended for but they don't stay sharp for long
Good price for a set of 600mm long auger bits. Used the two smaller ones (8mm & 12mm) and they worked well, even through some old tough oak.
Great auger drill used for drilling holes in tree stump prior to putting in epsom salts to kill the stump. Drills went nicr and deep.
Purchased these long reach Augers to remove the timber foot of a 4x4 fence post encased in concrete. Posts have been in for 39 years and bacteria has finally finished this post off. I used the 2 largest bits to remove most of the foot to good effect. A good cheap buy. Very pleased
A good selection of sizes of good length. Only the smaller one fitted my basic drill as the others were too broad, so I borrowed a power drill and used the 12mm size I needed. I used to drill
Quality item and great value for money. Staff always provide excellent service
Used these for drilling out the remains of a rotten fence post in the ground. Did the job well and survived to be used again. Great bits for the price 👌
Good enough to do the job. Not the best for hardwood but ok.
Went through 4 2x4's and 300mm of oak like butter.
Started with pilot hole, then 8mm and finally 12 mm. Pulled back to exteact chips regularly. Works a treat.
Good value for a basic set of long auger drills. Very useful of drilling deep into wood that's hard to access. These augers are 10x better for drilling neat holes in hard wood compared to flat drill bits
Good soild drill bit that got me out of a jam. Tring to line things up and drilling from both side was going to be a guess at best... pefect and easy.
For the price of these 600mm drills they are great value and for me worked a treat! I noticed that some purchasers broke the drills killing through sleeper.....not surprising as they were probably damp and if they were damp oak sleepers I'm definitely not surprised.
Drill bit set is ok value for money. No good for rpeated use.
