Yes you can fit laminate flooring without clamps but these are a real game-changer. I bought three to start with then bought two more.

Used this to move an entire 4x4m LVP floor a few millimetres and it worked! It was certainly robust enough to do the job but I have docked a star as the strap does stretch an awful lot. I guess this helps counter an over-enthusiastic use of the (standard) ratchet device but I would have preferred far less elasticity.

Good Product, but unfortunately does not have any instructions. I looked up how to use it on Youtube and once I got the knack it was easy to use and effective. If you are doing a large room, you may need more than one of these.

Absolute brilliant bit of kit, exceeded my expectations, almost did not buy as some people were moaning about the ratchet system. However they obviously did not know how a ratchet system operates as moaned about rather than looking it up on You Tube, saw a couple of great videos explaining, and after that it was simple and is now going to be used a lot. price at Toolstation is fantastic as well compared to all others.

Well used once love it but the ratchet is a nightmare to remove cord and jams easy spent hours undoing it , and if you remove the plate on the back ..dont as the screw will never go back while the tool is useful and i was one time happy and hours trying to remove the ribbon its the worst tie down strap I have ever used
Must have for flooring laying timber i been building for 50 years and this is a great tool to keep in you kit bag well made strong and much better than other brands i used before nice and wide
I used these Strap to install traditional solid pine tongue and groove floorboards, screwing down the boards through the tongue. I used 4 straps spaced evenly across a 2.6 metre width. Proceeding methodically, it was straightforward to pull the boards together. The lip pressing against the boards being pulled together, caused no damage to the board edges; even when powerful force was being used to deal with any warped boards.
Good clamps with nice long 5m strap. Very good value for money.
Simple solution for floor clamping and at a good price. I bought two sets of clamps for laminate flooring to ensure a close fit between planks. I’ve achieved good results so far and would recommend this product to other DIY enthusiasts.

It didn't work for me, possibly because of the lack of instruction on the otherwise largely blank back of the packaging. I have seen others make them work well.
