I bought two of these to compliment some other Irwin Quick-Grip clamps I had, so yes I was already a fan.
They work really well, and definitely have a good grip - better than some less substantial clamps from other manufacturers.
The slide mechanism to enable the fixed grip to be moved from one end of the shaft to the other is impressive, although perhaps not as slick as it could be, as when fitting it back on you need to jiggle it a bit for the slide to lock it in place.

Bought this to replace an old rusty one that no longer has any gripping capacity, it's easy to use lightweight reasonably priced and produces fantastic grip, highly recommended.

The Irwin Quite Release Clamps are a excellent buy. They are a good working clamp, which helps for quick clamping. It speeds up the process.

I already had a couple of their smaller clamps and they have been working perfectly. The clamp slides open easily when you are trying to set the correct jaw width. The mechanism works well and the clamping force feels as it should, without leaving any marks on the material. It converts into a spreader very quickly (which was why i bought it).

Would definitely recommend this clamp and spreader.

Had two 12” clamps but needed two more to build a deck , so bought 18”. They have proved a real asset, very easy to apply and release but have an extremely severe grip and will take all the squeeze that can be mustered when clamping. Already have the accessory to clamp the deck boards in place when I get to laying them so I’m ready to go.

Once you've used a good pistol clamp you'll never be without a pair of them. These are good; they clamp even heavy timber really solidly ensuring that when you fit your bolt/screw, everything stays locked in the right place. The plastic molding on these guys is thick enough and well shaped enough to let you really pile on the clamping pressure; I've used cheaper ones that have just broken the moment I squeezed them hard. I could not have done my deck rebuild without them! Their one Achilles heel is that they will rust almost immediately if you leave them out in the rain, but they're easy enough to clean up and re-lubricate if that happens.

I already have 2 clamps but they only had a clamp force of 63kg/sqm, these have a force to 136kg/sqm which was excellent as I used them to clamp shuttering for a 1.0m high concrete wall.
