Good strong clamp and nice and wide. Also works a spreader. Solid piece of kit.
Main body too bulky and gets in the way.
Good for clamping work straight on, but anything slightly off centre and they slip off. Don't like the swivel jaws either.
Older standard design from Irwin much better.
Easy to find out the materials snd very cheap price
Nice strong clamp and easy to use. Just a bit bulky when trying to use in tight spots.
It’s a great clamp I need a second one now as I warrant extra grip on my projects
Good size, but quite stiff to open and close easily with one hand (which is what's handy about the quick-grip clamps)
I looked in your catalogue and seen what possibly would do the job well I got to the shop the assistant got the item out to show me before I purchased to make sure it was what I needed and it was perfectly what I needed
Great clamps really heavy duty and great grip with them.
The Irwin quick grip heavy duty clamp performs well enough and applies a good force to clamp heavy timber together without moving. I found it sticks a bit so you need two hands to manipulate it into place. Items will stay clamped and the applied clamping force doesn’t appear to drop off.
Great clamp. Larger than I expected. Only fault I’ve found is the rubber pads come off way to easily, mitre fix solved that quickly.
Got this clamp to help fit a heavy ceramic sink. Easy to use and the clamp held the sink securely without causing any marks. Will be using it next to hold broken planters whilst the glue sets. Fair price for a great clamp.
A decent clamp is one of those things you need to buy but never seem to get around to. Well, I really needed one recently so I bought one of these. It worked brilliantly but I realised I needed two for the job so I could clamp both ends not just one in the middle. So I purchased a second one.
Job done!
Half of it arrived… not a very effective clamp with only one side. Returned it six weeks ago stating faulty, no refund given
After the online site defaulting to some other store, then my local not being able to find them in the shop, I had two orders that failed.
Once I did get them I was a little disappointed. They’re not as good as some older smaller ones I have, in so far as the jaw pads. My old ones stay parallel their full height.ie down to the steel bar. These don’t have the same pads and bend inwards so the only parts furthest away remain parallel. I wanted to rest timbers on the bar and clamp them to form a wide seat for a stool, so ended up having to pack out the jaws of the clamp. Not a quick & easy task.
Really convenient piece of kit, it's a shame they have reduced its usefulness by penny pinching on jaw rubbers - they have a much reduced clamping area due to their reduced size and the consequent reduction of any clamping support nearer to the bar - if I'd not go my original ones, I think I would not have purchased these - I would certainly make sure people appreciated this limitation.
I wanted to replace a broken clamp that had served me well for a number of years and this product was the closest match that I could find.
On the negative side; I would have liked the plastic jaws a little bit softer, so as not to damage materials like soft wood. Also the one handed release mechanism didn't always work well, but that may be due to the newness of the clamps which may get better with age and wear.
On the positive side; the clamps are strong, and a lot of force can easily be applied. The clamps have a quick jaw release mechanism, that allows a clamping force to be applied in the opposite direction very easily.
Reasonable value for money, with a strong durable construction
Great price for a solid, high quality piece of kit
Brilliant versatile clamp. What is not to like ? .
Really simple to use, effective strength and grip. Can use one handed.
Excellent product very strong, like having a spare pair of hands.
