Appears good value for the money and recommended, although I feel all dirty water pumps should have metal impellers.

Great pump - ideal for my needs. Float switch does its job and comes on, switches off by itself so I can drop the pump in a sump well and leave it. Shifts a lot of water very quickly.

Great little pump. Used it to evac water out of a cabin foundation after the appalling rain last week. It does need 2-5 minutes to build up pressure if not fully submerged. The pump is NOT FAULTY if it doesn't move liquid straight away - this is normal! (Don't believe everything you see on youtube :) ). I didn't have enough water to need the float sensor so I cable-tied it to the handle so it was "always on". The pump shouldn't be run continuously; the manual suggests a 10 minute break every hour. This was fine for me because I only ran it for 10 minutes at a time and was nearby to manually turn off. You'll also need a hose (I used 68917) and jubilee clip (61289 for pack of 10). Top job, Toolstation!
Shocking float switch, never again. Waste of time
Only worked once, second time of using would not draw water into itself to pump into discharge hose. Took it back but your policy is not to except these units back. Got full refund which is good. But if Hawksmoor are not informed of problems with the product how can they ensure good quality.
I've only had the pump for a few days but so far I'm pleased. It was bought to replace a Titan that was about 6 years old and that I used to pump water from a large rainwater collection tank to water the garden and top up the pond. This pump seems well built and slotted right in and started working right away.
As others have mentioned, connecting the pump to a normal hose is less than straightforward because it is really powerful and meant to be used with a larger bore pipe of I guess, at least 1". There's a reason for this, the pump is meant for moving a lot of water fast and connecting to a garden hose (about 20m long in my case) really adds a lot of resistance and reduces the flow. It's still OK but has to work quite hard. I'm looking to install a bigger pipe to make use of this pump's performance.
The float switch works fine but I would have like the ability to bypass it so that the pump is always 'on' and can be switched remotely.

I thought I could connect a standard garden hose - but you can't without some other connector. Nothing out of the box for standard garden hose fitment. Despite another reviewer saying 'I connected my garden hose'... I did find and butcher a connection i had but using a garden hose was still really pants/slow.
I opted for delivery too and it arrived within the hour on the back of a motorbike.
FANTASTIC service for the price too.
I have now also bought a 1 and a quarter inch roll flat hose - and holy moly! now its like fire hose! Brilliiant!

- Slides onto the pumps provided connector, I think you can cut it down if needed too, but i haven't. then one jubilee clip to secure the hose to the connector and thats it. Fire hose time!
Using mainly for hot tub emptying. I wish now I had done a video as i would definitely recommend this pump to you.

It's really really amazing.
Sunken boat? 24ft widebeam.
Submerged to brim all round.
Plugged holes in boat and fired up the generator and turned on the pump. Away she went. Boat started to raise 15 mins later and 2 hrs later was almost water free and fully buoyant. Amazing pump. Dirty silty water was no match, didn't clog or anything. Can't recommend enough. Thankyou

Good quality pump. I installed it for feeding a drip pipe by submerging it in rainwater butt. It works perfectly.

I’ve been looking for one of these pumps for ages. When I found this one at Toolstation, I was overjoyed. The price was just right. When I walked across the car park, the green accentuating my eye colour, I felt a million dollars. I will definitely be using Toolstation again.
