Good quality, robust bolt but very stiff to use, it took some lubrication and a bit of adjustment to get it to work satisfactorily.

This is a well made, sturdy bolt to secure the bottom of a gate or door. I bought it to replace an existing bolt which had failed after many years of use. It was easy to fix into place, once I had removed the old non functioning bolt. It holds the bottom of the gate securely in place. Job done. It looks like it will probably last as long as the bolt it replaced and that had been on the gate for at least 30 years.
Don’t buy this product, really poor quality galvanising and manufacturing means they jam up. Unfortunately I didn’t read other reviews saying same thing before I bought and wasted time. Had to faff around for ages trying to loosen the bolt up as it was the only locking method on customers wooden garage door. Toolstation should withdraw these items rather than discounting remaining stock and causing customers problems when fitting. Took second one back and had really rude and poor response from branch staff. Been a customer of TS for about 10yrs might be my last purchase.
For price very good. Needed to be worked a lot before fitting as slide action is very stiff, very tight fitting of guides. Once that's done and a little lubricant it's fine and working well after being fitted to the gate. Monkey tail

Good Value - Very secure and functional. A little bit stiff out the packet but soon running smoothly with a little lubrication. Would rather they started of a little stiff than flapping around.

Bought this for a set of gates I made for a customers the driveway has a slight slope so needed to set the gates with 40mm gap under when closed and as usuall naff all info or dimensions on the product, turns out it only has a 50mm throw so 10mm into the tarmac isn't enough. Long tail bolt, just right for small people, strong, sturdy bolt easy to fit
Sturdy bolt fixture should last well outdoors but fix is a bit rough and required a bit of sanding for bolt to move smoothly and not jam. Hence 4 stars and not 5.
