On a Chillington County wheelbarrow the bearings have to be removed and the bushes from the old wheel have to be inserted. Once this is done the sleeve for the bolt is wider than the bushes and 14mm spacers (not supplied) have to be inserted. I have used 14mm washers. Having done that the wheel is very hard compared to a pneumatic tyre.
A really Great product, versatile and easy to fit.
A relatively heavy alternative to the perishing pneumatics (endless cracks, punctures, etc.). As supplied, with a 5/8" bore, the bearings are something I wanted to keep, rather than use the larger bushings. Having a 10mm axle on the original wheelbarrow, I bored a 5/8" bright steel bar (107mm long, the gap between the wheel barrow axle mounting lugs) 10mm, and machined the longer 5/8" spacers to suit. Packed with grease and all bolted together, it performs beautifully.
Product would be easier to utilise if bearings/bushes were less than 5/8" I.D., for my application, your need may not require anything smaller.
I was a little uncertain before puchase than a solid tyre might be too firm but wouldn't look back now.
Performs really well, almost like a pneumatic tyre.
Good solid wheel however you need to know the spindle size of your barrow and compare it to this replacement wheel axle. I had to find and drill a piece of round bar in the lathe to make up the difference between my thinner axle and the larger hole in the new wheels bearings.

Excellent replacement for inflatable wheel and tyre, simple and easy to fit , accommodates several different axle sizes.
It's wheely good. Comes pre-inflated with solid air. No more flat tyres.
Seemed ok wheel but didn't fit so returned. It would be helpful to include spindle diameter.

After two punctures in a week decided to opt for a solid rubber barrow wheel.
Had to pop the bearing out in order for it to fit on the spindle.
Money well spent, would recommend 100%.

Bought this to replace the wheel on a Toolstation galvanised wheelbarrow. I bought it because the wheel that came with the wheelbarrow had a problem where the tyre kept coming off the rim. Imagine my horror when, after about two weeks of use, the solid rubber tyre began to split down the middle. I am not overloading the barrow nor was I over inflating the pneumatic tyre. No explanation other than poor quality.
Great replacement for repeatedly flat tyres on two well-used wheelbarrows. Not fitted yet, but these look to be just as advertised and what I was seeking. My experience of ultra-fast delivery at no cost, (ordered by 6pm one day, delivered by 9am the next), is perhaps a little unusual but hugely appreciated! Thanks Team Toolstation!
