The spade bit is a good length, it seems to bend easily. The spade bit i purchased became twisted out of shape. I brought 2 so it got the job done regardless. I used it to drill a hole through floorboard/joist behind the skirting for sockets so i don't have to remove the skirting so it saved time.
Great for going through ceilg joists when no access from above.
Kept its edge well. Grips well in drill chuck. Good value for money.

I bought this bit to put some wiring through some wooden floor joist and it went through the wood like a hot rod through butter. Good job.

There is cheap then really cheap quality too, broke after 1 hole through a joist, head stuck in hole, must be made of cheese or something, if there was a choice of better quality I’ll of had that, just needed the longer bit.
Poor quality made from cheap materials, only drilled one hole and one drill bit snapped and the other one bent. Returned both for a refund

Robust and well made bit which if drilling a long hole removes the danger of parting from an adaptor used to lengthen the drill.
Didn’t get through one hole in a hoist before it broke
Bought for drilling 2 bolt holes through telegrapgh pole. It did the job, but only just. On completion the bit shaft was bent from wobble, the spade was also bent and it was blunt, so on the scrap pile. For a few quid it does for a one off use.
