Bought for EV charging. Just what I wanted, works as expected

I have a Volvo plug in hybrid, the charger draws 10A. I have to use an extension lead as I have no external 13A sockets. I bought one from SF which (at the time of purchase) was supposed to be suitable, but from day 1 the plug and socket both got warm, and despite replacing the plug on it with a heavy duty one the issue continued. I saw this one on Toolstation and was immediately attracted by the fact it has 1.5mm flex. I’ve only been using it for 2 weeks but it remains completely cold while in use, the flex is definitely thicker than the SF one. Only negative (for which I’ve dropped one star) is that the plug and trailing socket look cheap and the trailing socket is not the weatherproof type with a lid/cap.
Good value - copes with difficult temporary supply to heater circuit.
Perfect for the job I envisioned re-cabling my lawn mower. Heavy duty cable lays on the ground better than the original and hopefully I will avoid running over it too often as I had with the original. The original had become faded and less supple as the years progress and the many repairs mandated that I replaced the cable, this is perfect slightly longer and much heavier and being new less prone to tangling and snagging. The quality is there to see, crimped cables at the terminal ends and dense non brital plastic plug/socket should last at least as long as the original if not longer at 20 years plus for the price it is worth it.

Not good enough for the money. It's got rewireable ends which is good, it's decent arctic grade 1.5mm cable, and the connections were well made and ferruled. But at this price point it should have a durable ("rubber") plug and socket, not the cheap brittle type that's been used. I was stuck and needed something immediately but you can buy way better for less online - or buy the bits and make your own!

Well... it's a cable. Nothing much to say here - it works as expected. Quite thick which helps when running it through rough terrain under my suspended floor.
