Happy with the saw. When I bought it, I collected from the Toolstation store and it looked like a return. Dust and a few marks on the cutting deck and also a big greasy thumb print on the fence. The box had been re taped up too. It was also missing the trench depth bolt, which I’ve had to contact Evolution to send out to me. Not mega bothered, as it’s going to look well used shortly. But honesty should come first…
Bought this 6 weeks ago for decking / shed construction project as accuracy is paramount. Unfortunately have found calibration unsatisfactory - straight cuts 2 or 3mm out when checked with set square. Zero degree setting moves when tightening platform. Also, 'precision'laser light off by at least 3mm. Was not able to use straightaway after purchase for various reasons and therefore unable to return within 30 days. Contacted Toolstation who initially said they would refund as I considered the machine faulty but when I took it back they said it would have to go back for repair instead. Awaiting outcome so will reserve further comment until then. Meantime, my project has ground to a halt !
Simply the worst chop saw I’ve used the mitres don’t match even after several attempts to calibrate… and yes I’ve done this before … the dust bag is just about empty but dust everywhere else ..
Excellent saw! I had 60 scaffold boards to cut, this made light work of them.
Only used with various wood types and plastic guttering. Had a metal box section to renew my satellite LNB arm but was reluctant to try it on that. Did a great job cutting the plastic gutter. Cuts wood so easily and the sliding action allows cuts of wide boards. Used the trench facility on a decking post but had to use a spacer on the fence to cut the trench fully. Cut the 70mm post with ease. A very good buy
Brought this for home diy excellent easy to use handles like a dream wish I had brought one years ago instead of using the old wooden block would highly recommend this product also purchase extension stand just to make the job easier well worth the price easy to set up
Replacement for same saw/make/model I previously had, does everything I need on a smallholding and at times works hard. Previous saw lasted well cant remember how many years ago so bought same again hopefully this one will do as well as last.
Decent for the price can’t complain, the second one I’ve had
As an amateur DIYer I wanted a mitre saw to help me build some wooden boxes for various wildlife projects. I found this saw to be easy to put together and easily powerful enough to cut the wood for my projects. The laser sighting is very useful to ensure accurate cutting, and the cut was certainly smooth enough for what I need.
A great saw for the money, cuts a variety of materials with ease, assembly was easy, the laser light was spot on.Its not a Makita but it's not far behind,I,m happy with it.
great service ordered on line received a text the following day ready for collection
Well made goes through every thing I’ve had to cut. 4x8 all sorts . Definitely recommend this. Has a slow spin up though. Which you do get used to…………………………………………………….:…………………………………… ………………………………..
Excellent saw with a nice smooth clean cut. Didn’t realise how poor my old saw was until I used the Evolution R255.
Good for home improvements. Would advise getting a wood blade for a better finish
Works well and did not need adjusting for angles. Took aprox half an hour to build up. there are links to videos for this in the instructions. My only regret is that I did not pay the extra £100 so it can bevel each way. The laser is a nice touch for a rough guide of the cut line but prefer to use a pencil line.
Cuts perfectly every time through wood. Made a floor deck and had no issues with joists noggings ...the lot.
Great saw and does so much more than I thought it would.
Good tool 👍👍, easy to use and set up. Would highly recommended it.
Clean cut, powerful with long cable which avoids extension cable. Easy to assemble and easy to use. Good value for the price
The saw cuts pretty well although I think the accuracy on the laser is out by a couple of mm
