it's a key that operates the sah bolts. Turn it one way it locks, turn the other way it unlocks. Simples
With home security it is always best to go with the trusted names. If your security bolts are ERA then get ERA replacement keys if you need them. I didn't, bought keys at half the price and found they didn't work in my ERA bolts because they were a different diameter (smaller).
As you would expect, Toolstation refunded me without question and provided me with the correct keys.
fits the lock it was intended for as old key was thinner and wouldn't turn it. Brilliant price

Look at the size of the thumb turn!! The old ones are nowhere this size and they dont look nice if you plan on keeping that fitted in the lock, unlike the old one. BUT on the positive if you are fitting these for a person with arthritis in their fingers the size is a bonus but making them white would be better unless your doors are grey!!

Some of these style keys are made of softer metal and easily deform before too long. These ERA ones are a bit more expensive but will last

wanted some simple bolts for internal doors to lock if ever required. nice finish , easy action and fitting with the preffered chrome finish. It does NOT come with a KEY sooooo you need to buy one seperately as if found out just before i nearly went back to the store to complain...i re-read the the toolstation descriptio, swore and realised i should have bought one seperately ( i guess they dont do one with the bolt to cut down waste and cost) .
The keys were fine.
I was actually very angry that the Era security bolts DID NOT come with keys!!
Needed replacement as a spare. Did the job Good value.
