Easy to replace old ERA with new ERA dead lock and dimensions are matched .
Had to buy a new deadbolt gearbox as the old lock was stuggling to open, this was a perfect match for the old one and was easily fitted within about 10 mins.Its been in the door a while now and no problems so far, more than happy with this purchase.
Direct replacement for original gearbox. Easy to to install and cheaper than similar products at other retailers. Only issue was there were none in stock locally, so had to drive 30 miles to a Toolstation that had them in stock.

We were in the process of moving and the gearbox broke in the back door so we ordered this and it was excellent value for money and was a perfect match.
Firstly, I was not sure what size I needed as the web had said the measurement was to the centre of the hole. The gentleman in Toolstation was a great help.
Secondly, after stripping out my 10+ broken one this was a perfect replacement. And touch wood it doing what it’s meant to so far.

The gearbox is exact fit, direct replacement. It takes 15 mins to replace it. I just hope it will last a little longer than the last one.
The only problem that I encountered was slight hiccup in delivery whereby the item was shipped from the warehouse on a Saturday, but hadn't arrived at the couriers (Evri) by Wednesday. An online chat in the afternoon with Linda resolved the problem and a replacement arrived the next day before noon - so five stars for Linda's efforts.
The gearbox is of good quality and appeared identical to the one being replaced so it is possibly a genuine ERA item.
Replacement was simplicity itself. Two things to watch out for
1) There is a little lever on the lock barrel that needs to be flush with the barrel body in order to remove/replace the barrel.
2) Changing the "handedness" of the latch to match old gearbox requires the deadbolt to be extended (by rotating the handle socket upward). Make sure that the deadbolt is retracted before you screw the gearbox onto the rest of the mechanism
This is a reasonably straightforward item to replace, once you remove the entire locking strip on the door. It's very important that the door is correctly aligned in the frame, so that all the deadbolts enter their boxes in the frame easily, without catching. Reason: inside, the spindle drives 2 steel cogs against 2 thin alloy guides, one of which broke on ours. So treat opening and closing with respect.
