Good solution saves buying the complete unit which is a waste. Direct replacement very easy to fit. Works as it should, and looks the same as the original.

I needed to repair my Dawn to dusk sensor but only the top ‘active’ element. Toolstation offered the top photocell on its own which meant the repair was done in a few seconds. No need to replace the lower half and rewire or pay for and discard a new part which wasn’t needed.

Good idea, plug in replacement unit. Good price and easy to replace. Unit only been in a week so don't know how long it will last. Old unit lasted about 18 months.

Simple direct swap for tired photocell. So far working well.
Finally, a photo cell head unit without a base unit that gets thrown away. Seems pretty universal but would be nice to see a diagram of the 3 brass base contacts.
Simply screw off the old one and screw it in like a light bulb! Used for lights outside my garage.
