Little complex to assemble. But as a mower for a medium to small patch of grass its great. Height adjustment is perfect, has notches to put the level into, last hand mower I had was just a guess. Certainly an upgrade.
Bought this having sold my petrol mower which was too much mower for my small garden. Pretty happy with it. It's light, quiet, easy to store, cuts grass well though I seem to end up using it in a more random, hoovering pattern rather than pushing it back and forth in lines. Assembly was straightforward (you do need your own spanner) though one of the bolts, which is supposed to be held captive in the frame as you tighten the nylocs, just spun, either because the hole was oversized or the shoulders in the bolt were too round. Solved by replacing the nyloc with a normal nut and washer but I'd have been frustrated if I hadn't happened to have those already. Also, I found the blades, which are adjustable and apparently pre-set at the factory, were too tight but easing those off a bit (needs a 10mm spanner and only fractions of a turn) made a massive difference.
I've had powered mowers all my life and decided to give this push mower a try, wish I had changed years ago, it's a breeze to use as sharp as anything and so so convenient and fuss free.
It cuts well. It can get blocked up if a small twig or piece of gravel gets in the blades. As others have said, the clippings collector isn’t great. Mine keeps falling off. I have 3 small areas of grass to cut and it does a reasonable job. I don’t think this would be suitable for larger areas.
Short grass in no time at all! Nice geared mechanism, easy to put together, lawn cut by the time an electric would have been unraveled and plugged in!
