Very Professional Tool , Extremely Easy to Use
Can Recommend Most Highly & A Highy Quality Tool is Very Welcome Indeed.
The grinder unfortunately only lasted about two minutes but the customer service I received from the store staff was excellent
A good product and did the job of cutting through concrete perfectly.
On opening the box and taking out the grinder I was a little shocked by the weight it was quite heavy I am a 77yr old DIY man and not a professional tradesman the only grinders I have used were smaller in size and weighed much less. I was pleased to find you are able to position the handle in one of three different positions this makes a big difference as you can choose whatever position suits you best. The grinder performed very well and once I got used to it I never noticed it's weight, I needed to remove a section of concrete garden path and the grinder made short work of the path as for price in my opinion this tool was definitely value for money and I would recommend this grinder to anyone. AAAAA
Great grinder does exactly what is neeed soft start very useful
Bought to cut some limestone flags .
It was excellent .
A read a review saying they disliked the slow start but it’s only for a couple of seconds and helps with accurate cutting.
Motor have up after the thurs cut into a none load bearing breeze bloke internal wall. Staff refused refund and have only alloud a replacment. I dont need a tool that breaks under minimal load. Im a trades man with over 2 decades of expertise
Used item previously ,no problem, great weight easy to use , bought 1 unfortunately had to return. Wouldnt discourage purchasing again good item .
The soft start is a nice feature, but the double action switch is stiff and not easy to use. Plenty of power, disc changing is easy and there is a good length of cable
A good buy at the price but does not have the robusst feel of more expensive brands.
I haven't used an Einhell before and I'm really impressed. I wanted a grinder with a soft start and this is one of very few models that does. I have used it a lot on concrete blocks, bricks and tiles and it cuts really well. The handles and weight is good and make it easy to hold and use. The best feature is the soft start.
My previous black and decker pro 230mm angle grinder wore out after 40 years of use. I was attracted to the soft start of the Einhell grinder as the B and D had a big, but manageable “kick”. The soft start does help but it builds speed too slowly. You have to wait for seemingly a long time to build up speed. Subjective but I have found this irritating very quickly.
On the B and D I could lock the switch to “on”. The Einhall needs you to hold the trigger in, and ease your grip on the trigger it starts to slow, squeezing doesn’t seem to switch it on until its stopped completely. A safety feature?
I find the safety interlock a bit hard to operate. You have to press the interlock foreward to release it and then squeeze the trigger. I found this hard when wearing heavy gloves,
I actually read the instructions. I found them ambiguous to the point I considered returning the grinder. What does this mean to you?
“Do not use for cutting stone unless fitted with the guard (which can be purchased separately)
I paraphrased the instruction above, I thought there might be a specially designed guard for stone cutting thats an extra purchase. I thought there was a special guard, which was not supplied.
On the guard supplied there is a graphic of the grinder being used to cut stone, with a big Red Cross through it. This confirmed I shouldn’t use it for slab cutting. On carefully looking at the graphic it seems to indicate don’t use it for stone cutting, with the guard in the position shown (but it’s not clear as the Red Cross hides the detail)
In my research on what grinder to buy I came across “not dust resistant bearings” when looking at the specs of this grinder … somewhere on the Web. But on the next model up I found it said “dust resistant bearings”. Somewhat confused. Why would they not fit decent bearings in a model just a few pounds cheaper. I have tried to find the reference to the inferior bearings again, but couldn’t find it.
I did cut about 10 slabs. The features suggest it might be safer than my old grinder for a new user. But irritating for one used to handling a big and heavy grinder.
Pity you can’t test a range of tools before choosing the one to buy!
Great grinder does what it says on the tin as soon as you pick it up you know it's not cheap
I bought this 9 inch angle grinder today, along with a new cutting dish too for using on it. The disc appeared perfectly flat - however, it looks like the spindle on the grinder was either buckled slightly, or one of the seating collars was out of true. Fitted the disc to the grinder as it was all new out of the box, and as it spun up for the first time the disc completely worked loose and locked up - in turn throwing itself from the grinder! Thank god, there weren’t kids in the area! Checked the security of everything, and triple checked it after fitting the disc back on. Yet again, the exact same happened as I started it up gradually!!! Putting a marker onto the rear guard, as you look and manually rotate the blade (power plug disconnected) there is a buckle on one of the parts that causes a differential of the surface of the blade by 1.5 mm per rotation. I cannot fault Toolstation for how they handled my complaint - they gave a full refund of both the angle grinder and the disc too. Full credit to the staff at the Scarborough store. They’re a brilliant team - service is always really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Well definately but from toolstation again, but regarding this 9 inch angle grinder….dont touch it with a barge pole!!!
An excellent and powerful machine. It cut through brick and concrete easily.
Good for a DIYer, works well no problems cut bricks tarmac and concrete no problem.
Great piece of kit. Bought a diamond blade for it and cut down some paving stones for my patio. Would def buy again.
Cant fault it, price could be a little lower to make it a true bargain
Done the job of cutting block packers with ease
Slow start is ok
Quality item ,works well, soft start excellent, would highly recommend this item
