Needed it for plywood soffit. It did the job (7 holes), albeit slowly. I suspect the cutter is designed for plasterboard, so using it for ply means it wont stay sharp long.
I need to drill one hole for a light. The price of one piece on it's own or for the price of 2 you get a whole kit!
It will no doubt join the garage of "might be useful one day" But hopefully I will find a use???
The kit came with 6 holesaws, and the pilot drill bit.

fine for cutting through plasterboard, i nicked a joist with it and it rounded out the hole for the arbor but to be expected at the price point i guess
Does what it says - saws do get very hot very quickly, so keep a pot of water close by!
Easy to get which was in stock and very handy to use did a good job. Its a good tool to have in the van. Would recommend for every trade person
This is a basic kit at a good price. We used it for downlighter holes in palster board and it cut 8 holes with no sign of any major wear.
Probably not up to much more expensive items but at this price you could almost class the kit as a consumable item.

cheap and did the job, I wanted it to cut through a work top, I did not realise the depth so they was a bit short for what I wanted, got about half way and removed the cut out, then took a second bite out of it, it did what I wanted perfectly well, for downlighter I think it would be perfect, happy with my purchase

Fantastic Hole Saw that does what it says on the tin, I drilled 81 holes for ventilation with it, great reliability and really recommend.
As expected, it easily cuts through plasterboard to form openings for spotlights.
These cutters are absolutely fine for plasterboard, cutting out for DLs DownLights

I had the ceiling replaced in the bathroom and had fitted 4 downlights and needed an 85mm hole saw. This set contained a hole saw that was the perfect size and cut the holes in the plasterboard perfectly.
Locking system completely wore away witting 30secs of use then locked up. Total waste of money
