Does not cut wood joists, Does not cut wood joists
Great product fast and clean cutting used to cut through 8x2 no problem.
I haven’t used many drill bits of this size to compare against but this one seemed to work efficiently and got the job done.
Good for drilling deep holes in really hard wood. Loads of holes and still sharp.
Screw thread is too quick for cutting ability of blades causing them to jam. Flat bit style prong is required.
Needed an 18mm wooden drill bit to make some precision holes for dowling
This drill bit is a good piece of kit.
Rips right through wood with no effort. Size is accurate
Good design for the cutter but it needs to cut into the wood faster; good connection and reasonably priced in at case
Fast clean hole cutting. Great product and great price.
Very good quality product for what I needed. Excellent cutting.
Good quality worm drive auguer bit. Purchased to pre drill timber prior to using a 14mm SDS drill bit to avoid blowing out the rear of the timber. The drill bit cuts smooth and quickly and is good enough quality for site use suitable for use in an impact or drill
Ideal for kitchen cupboard door locks. Good sharp tool.
I had a number of holes to drill in some joists and this bit just sailed through them, ideal for this sort of job.
Pulls through timber quite aggressively. Seems to be very sharp.
Why five stars, because it did a good job and I'm happy with it.
The only caveat is be sure you've something with enough torque to drive it. I find with augers( I've a 40mm one) that sometimes the screw lead clogs and doesnt pull it in.
In the bigger sizes, I drill a fine pilot hole say 4mm ? Smaller than the lead screw diameter and it seems to fire right on in.
The other thing is, it hit brick before it cleared the hole.
I drilled a masonry bit relief hole for the lead screw to enter..perfect.
I don't think it is 5 times faster than flat drill , but it was definitely faster and easier and smoother , but still i had to give it little push , drill drives itself for first few mill but then you need to give a little push.
Well made, doesnt blunt easily but only use it for wood. We used this to run cables through the joists safely.
It's so keen it tends to get stuck in solid oak and then you have a problem. Does the job on softer woods.
Excellent. Stays sharp even after multiple drilling.
Although i didnt use this conventially it performed as i wanted it to.
I ground the lead spur off and used it as a reamer in an oak balustrade to make predrilled holes that were off..plumb.
Based on that experience im more than happy with my purchase.
