I have abandoned Makita. They used to be solid and lasted years, but 4 (yes, 4) recent grinders and drills have died very quickly. Something going downhill with the quality of their commutators. So, trying DeWalt - have been impressed with their battery / brushless stuff. However, so far, this mains unit while solid has two pretty glaring problems. Unlike the higher power Makitas, this doesn't have a soft-start ramp up of RPM. So it kicks quite a lot when you turn it on. But, far worse, is the mains switch. They're supposed to be hard to accidentally turn on. This one is very difficult to turn off when wearing protective gloves. Terrible design oversight!
Needed a good strong angle grinder as my old one had bit the dust. Upgraded to a more powerful model. Used as soon as I bought. Easy to use and powerful for the job
Robust product with an improved disc lock mechanism.
What a tool, amazing, worth it's weight in gold. It's done some work in the last 2 weeks. Easy to use, not too heavy (I'm a female using it). Would definitely recommend.
Good value product , does the job well and handy to have in your tool kit
Powerful and easy to use. Perfect for when my battery grinder doesn’t have sufficient battery power.
Unlike my last angle grinder it doesn’t have a deadman switch. I.e. it doesn’t turn off if you lose control or drop it. If the cord gets caught round the grinding wheel, polishing pad etc. your best hope is that it cuts the cord or pulls the socket from the wall before something worse happens. The design allows for the protective guard to be removed - useful for things like polishing but dangerous due to the switch problem. Other than that a great little angle grinder.
Great angle grinder, with a comfortable grip unlike some that a awkward to use
Good weight to the product and works really well. My first grinder so didn't know what to expect really but I am pleased with it.
I was in desperate need of a new Electric Grinder and toolstation were the only store i could actully collect the model i was looking for straight away without next day delivery polite knolegable staff highly recommend
Brilliant grinder. Plenty of power comes in a good sturdy case. Plus a decent guarantee.
The only bad point is you don’t get a spanner for changing the disks
Excellent angle grinder. Weight is not heavy can be easily directed. As usual DeWalt product is qiuality.
The only criticism I have is the the ON/Off could be more responsive when switching to the off position.
Fairly heavy duty, seems to be standing up to its work load.
Great bit kit got me out jams very quickly
Very solid feel
Much more power than using my Bosch corded and especially Dewalt battery one. I have been using a battery one fir a while and you forget hiw much torque comes from a good motor corded
really good cutter powerful and well balanced good value for money
Just used it to create an expansion joint in concrete and it was so much better than my previous one. It starts very smoothly and very easy to handle. I would certainly recommend it.
Packed up working within three weeks due to electrical fault. Returned to tool station and was offered a replacement. Now the replacement has lost its on/off button. The quality of this item is dire.
Well balanced with plenty of power. I used for cutting 20mm thick porcelain slabs easily.
Used for cutting porcelain pavers 20mm thick , worked perfectly
